Your sheet reminded me that when I was aboard ship in the Navy our sheets were actually a big bag which fit over the mattress. Once a week we all stripped the sheet bag off our mattresses & filled the bag with the weeks dirty laundry. The laundry crew would come by & pickup the bag & later that same day it would be returned all clean & folded for us to stow in our lockers. Oh, the mattress bag? It was called a Fart Sack. !

That's partly why you have to stay diligent out there. Not really a lot of people around to make sure other people haven't screwed up and to watch your own ass. Gotta pretrip truck and trailer, double check your trailer numbers and paper work.

I always used pipe fittings gloves for fuel( insulated for winter), and leather for other things. Now I’d use mechanic gloves instead of leather.

The tanker guy messed up the paper work, that's on him. As for the frustrations because of him, Rex life is short. All you get from worrying about his mistake is an ulcer.

Did you check in at AFB in Aurora? I just finished TNT with my trainer last week. If I'm not mistaken they want us to check in at the guard shack now in Aurora. Apparently, they had a couple of tanks get out of temp and blamed us. I'm not 100% sure so maybe check with Kyle.

One thing I wish prime would do is have a actual load board. Yea you won’t be able to get some of your crap load run but it’s the only way you can get money out of shippers that try to be to cheap.

I mean everyone’s financial situation is different. You got to remember generally these trucks run 7 miles to the gallon (sometimes more/some times less). So he burning about 143 gallons. They also get fuel discounts. So let’s say they get 25 cent off average is 3.30 to 3.50 for diesel now least around me so that’s about $400-$500. So that’s about $1000 for about a day and half of work. Again everyone’s a little different but that could be about 4K in a week to the truck after fuel. You can write off pretty much everything for your truck and up to 1500 per month of home expenses. You can make a lot of loads work for ya if you know how to do your business right.

@@avalon7128 ok but you still have lease payment or loan payment insurance taxes ifta 2290 bobtail insurance is fuel so take half out for your expenses then take 25% for taxes and 25% for fuel just doesn't seem good for a long term plan

I wish I could tell you it gets better but after 25 years of doing this job I can say it doesn’t. You will always deal with that kind of stuff. Dispatch lying to you to get what they want, shippers screwing up and wasting your time, other drivers not taking care of trailers and leaving the problem for the next guy, etc. You just get used to it and deal with it

If you are under 21 you can’t cross state lines there are several local companies that might give you a chance
