This is how to do the driver side Axle on a 2016 and up Malibu with the 1.5L T engine . Very easy job and can be done in about 30 minutes or less on jack stands .

Good to see the process. Fun fact for you. If you bang in bolts rather then follow them into the hole by driving them in via an impact or wrench, you have a higher chance of upsetting the threads. Threading them into the hole ie impact, you're using the thread in a proper manner to set them. Just a tip from me to you.
@alexkoncki54903 жыл бұрын
I listened to your comment on a few of the bolts and took forever to realize they were collared bolts and needed to be knocked out with a hammer.

So much missing information. Like the plastic grommet on the end of the old axle, does it go on the new axle? Because my new axle came with a metal ring that snaps into place where the plastic ring is supposed to be and I don't know if I'm supposed to try to force both of them on or just use one or what

I have 2018 that is making a clicking noise when coming to a stop if I continue really slow when I stop like letting the brake go u could hear clicking nosie and when I put it in drive and park it makes a clicking noise also when it turns on in traffic because it's a auto stop it sumtimes makes a noise also, could it be the inner cv joint? I took it to a mechanic to inspect it he couldn't find anything ripped or broken

What is the average cost for this type of job?
@reneantonio912 жыл бұрын
On this malibu ? It calls for 1.8 Hr labor time each axle on this car. On most FWD cars it calls between 1.5-3 hrs each axle , depending on the car . Not every car is as easy as this one

How do you know when it’s in does it pop or ?
@reneantonio913 жыл бұрын
It makes a soft thump sound most of the time when it’s in but always make sure to check visually as well that you don’t see part of the shaft out of the transmission or it could leak fluid and pop out

It could be many things , best thing to do is put your car on a lift or jack it up with a jack and stands , shake the front end of the vehicle and look under neath the car for any suspension part that is worn or broken

Lots of bolting w/o torque wrench and always put the axel bolt on by hand first like all the directions say. You are too interested in the clock. Otherwise the video and narration were fine.
