It took Lee a little while to get there, but the direction of the handle through impact is the BIGGEST difference between pros and ams, just yellin :). You need a supporting cast, like hip rotation, and as Brendon illustrates, a wide ranging torso and shoulder move. A gold nugget here Brendon, thanx much !

I think hitting up on the ball has been known to be beneficial for a long time. Bobby Jones talked about sweeping the ball off a tee back in the 30’s in his how I play golf series.

If you have a 45 VSP and you hit 4 degrees up on the ball all you have to do is have a swing direction of plus 5 and you’ll have a positive path. Tell Dietrich this 🥝👌👊

This assumes all things equal correct? what about with right tilt in the spine? Or right lateral bend

You can hit up and to the right. See Rory or anyone who hits a push draw with driver and upward AoA. I do the same as measured on my gc2. Obviously not as good though. I carry the ball more like 250-260 as a mere mortal.

Me too, but its usually in my back pocket. Congrats to you. The bad part is I’m also a mere mortal who dreams of that type of distance!

It's funny because my mid irons have a been a bit off. Like still long, but not absolutely flushed, but I've been totally creaming my small wedge shots, where I sort of leave my right wrist bent through impact and hold the face of in the follow through...so I thought, what if I used my small wedge swings on my mid irons, and I immediately started ripping them lol.

Open your toeline when you play your ball back in the stance, and close it slightly when teeing off with the ball far forward in the stance. Nothing really new, is it? The trick is in how to grip the club and position the clubface in relation to the ball so you have a relaxed address position first off, and then a square impact with the ball on the sweetspot (with the swing that you have). I´m just no big believer in setting up the clubface square and directly behind the ball all the time.

You can hit up and to the right....it’s called a chicken wing. This video does though explain my snap hooks when I play the ball outside my lead foot
