My dad always told me I needed to see 3 to 3 1/2 knuckles on my left hand. He would tell me that “you want just a little bit of cup in that wrist”. It really served me well and I think players with strongish grips with extended lead wrists have a huge advantage over weak and bowed

At 8.33 you had great strike, and at full speed it looked like an inside over the top hand path loop that put the club on plane. I think that club tipping feel you have is just creating the GOOD kind of over the top hand path on the start of the downswing that puts club on plane and shallows the shaft without your old wobble.

Old video but newer golfer finding some good info. At 7:08 he mentions when we try to use the body/the 15% to drive the 85% it just doesn't work. I understand that as we should 'FEEL' like we lead with the 85% instead. If this is how it's meant to be understood then this could totally be why I feel like I am all over the place as I thought the body should drive most of the swing

Question for you and Malaska. I love the feeling of pushing down on grip with the heel pad to set the club. Do we always want the feel when pitching / chipping?

App is Fault y. at 6:45 you are WAAAAAYyyyyyy inside and spine angle changed. He is still club head outside hands. 9.0 is faulty. The app is useful, I've used "The Golf Fix" but it is giving you an inflated score. You drag it inside and then you are over the top on the downswing.

If it is working for you you are a more vertical to diagonal lever action/hinger. This is what Tisher or Mike Adam’s would say and it’s only applicable to maybe a 3rd of people

Brandon……Unfortunately you simply do not understand the fundamental differences between a hitter and a swinger…..nope. Why did Moe Norman say the secret to his swing was his “passive hands,” but Hogan wanted “3 right hands” into and through impact? Do “hitters” want the club head to pass their hands through impact? What was Hogans secret? Why did Hogan say “you can see it if you know where to look”? Brian Manzella is 100% incorrect, a specific feel most certainly does not translate into a similar specific visual. What was Hogans secret…..? Did Hogan need high speed film or photography to “see” his secret? Learning to ACCELERATE is the huge key. Great and consistent ball striking is a “byproduct” of ACCELERATION. Moe Norman WAS NOT a “greedy golfer,” but Hogan most certainly WAS. Norman and Hogan both predicted their swings on maintaining a “loaded” shaft. Wouldn’t you too Brendon, if ball striking wasn’t a concern? “LAG” = “BULLSHIT.”

I found this video more interesting than anything else I've seen from you because usually you have other instructors explaining their theories but in this one you were saying that you've found something. Recently I've found the same thing in two ways. One is some old David Duvall videos where he's explaining a similar move the other is remembering Malaska's. Previously I hadn't fully committed to the move probably because I didn't understand how it could work. Now I've abandoned trying to understand it and just started doing it and the results are amazing. The ball just goes farther and straighter when you combine the throwing and the turning. As Duval said "the harder you go, the farther and straighter the ball goes." This catches my attention because I've always wanted to go hard at the ball, but when I did, I'd see some hooks and slices. With this move you described I feel like I'm throwing the clubhead on plane from the top. My mind still can't get wrapped around what is actually happening but the ball just goes where it's supposed to. The forces on the club you and Malaska describe make all this counterintuitive so for me feel is not real. "That can't be right" Is exactly what I had told myself too! Anyway thanks for the good content!

Just saw a video of Randy Smith explaining that you have the hammer head stationed on the heel of the club face; and the goal is to hammer the nail that’s coming out of the ground just before the club reaches parallel to the ground in the down swing. I messed with this feel and it resulted in what you were going over here.

Thanks for sharing this 🙏👍 So basicly firts you have to learn that baton drill. When you know how to follow that force off swinging club, then you can start adding force and speed. So probably every good player is swinging club, even they can look different 🤔

On that 2nd shot on the 10th, it looks like you a reaching for the ball, and you should be standing much closer, I never seen anybodywhi is good with their wedges stand that far away from the ball. Also your shoulders stop turning but your arms continue quite a bit till your the end of backswing, which can make it much harder to time and be consistent with contact.
@mikenugent25317 күн бұрын
This is really complicated but you are hitting the ball great. I bet if you rook three weeks off you might have a tough time getting the ball airborne. Swings like Tony Finau, John Rahm, Rod Pampling or Padraig Harrington do not appear to be as complicated.

Does Mike teach that move now, though? Sort of like Tom Watson in Getting Back to Basics, he emphasized the rotation of the left forearm as the key to the golf swing. However, in Timeless Swing, he doesn’t mention it at all. Malaska doesn’t teach that move now, does he?

@3n2a24 күн бұрын
Someday an OEM will make a 43", heavier headed, 460cc, lofted, forgiving driver that average person needs. Mini driver is a couple steps that direction. Oh, and plenty of pros need as well. With 280 3w, you really only need your driver for ease of shaping tee shots with less loft. Think of it as a 300yd finesse club instead of a cannon. # comments indicates great video!

Brandon I have been watching you from the beginning. Loved some of your early lessons/discussions with some of golf’s best and some eccentric instructors, all in a quest for a better golf swing. At 68 years old I have lost some club head speed and distance. In my quest to gain back my deteriorating golf swing I have destroyed a good golf swing. The last 2 years with a great golf instructor I have been able to regain much of my old swing. So I’m very careful about trying to swing a golf club with more velocity. You have come across some amazing technical processes of a great golf swing with a few extremely talented Swing coaches. And to hear you reaffirming what some of these early instructors were telling you is so helpful for me to stick with the important aspects. Thanks

The Manzella tumble move is alpha torque I think. Negative alpha force holds the club up at the top and start of transition which changes to positive. That is the same as lifting the club in the takeaway, force underneath the shaft.

In my opinion the best videos for amateurs you made are the throwing videos with Mike Malska: taking the left hip back and clapping the right wrist in the forward swing. Easy to understand, easy to practice, getting straight shots without a difficult to understand Malaska move.
