@allisonjames292321 сағат бұрын
The sad part is that both the fake “I can’t breathe” card & the automatic “I need an ambulance” are actually causing people who are genuinely injured or sick to not be believed. Look for the old guy who apparently upset the EMT & she called the police & got him kicked out of the ambulance. He probably was behaving inappropriately as he argued & was uncooperative after the police arrived & he kept saying “I can’t breathe” while talking & arguing, but normally (as a Paramedic of 23yrs), we take the police with us or if they’re really out of control & don’t meet sedation criteria, we get the police to transport & we follow in case of emergency. This guy was saying he couldn’t breathe & went & sat down on a nearby bench while the ambo’s & cops talked about the situation & he actually was having a heart attack & died & it took a good few minutes for them to notice because they’re so used to people faking these days. There are basically three instances which affect people’s perception of their ability to breathe - injury or illness that actually interferes with their breathing (they’re the ones who can’t scream & yell fluently because they physically can’t move enough air). Then there’s the ones with a condition that allows them to get enough air in, but it can’t get to vital organs, usually because of some kind of obstruction like heart failure or in the case of George Floyd, the large blood vessels on one side of his neck being obstructed, septic shock (emotional shock doesn’t cause it that’s not really “shock” as defined in the medical field), increased demand vs supply (eg stimulant drugs or having just tried to outrun/fight the police). Then there’s the psychological causes - real ones like psychogenic hyperventilation causing people to get oxygen in but they breathe too fast to exchange the carbon dioxide in the blood for oxygen, which can actually cause them to pass out briefly while their body tries to calm them TF down. Anxiety can also cause the sensation of air hunger (not being able to get big enough breaths even though they’re actually moving air adequately), but most of these people who are being arrested are just saying it as an automatic response to get treated differently as a protective mechanism or because they think they won’t get cuffed, or will get special treatment. But, as I said, all the people crying wolf, deliberately or otherwise, are actually getting people killed. This silly woman was at risk of that - that was a lot of damage to her vehicle & very likely to cause her potentially life-threatening injuries that would have been masked by whatever she was on + adrenaline + the cop’s very understandable anger & frustration with her dangerous behaviour

*Had she just given the cop her ID, registration and insurance information, this would’ve been nothing more than a speeding ticket and $500 fine. Instead, she wanted to play stupid games to earn that stupid prize. And now she will be a felon for life with significantly increased car insurance for life, mounting medical bills and injuries and spend many days in prison. Some criminals should be arrested for just being stupid. This girl is as dumb as they come.*

A lot of these videos go roughly this way. Are the people permanently crazy or are they just crazy when they are experiencing effects from some kind of drug? I suppose, just mind numbingly stupid as you suggest is a possibility also, but I am not sure you can be this stupid without being crazy.
