I really like the aggressively calm officer’s strategy. I feel like remaining that exceptionally calm not only minimizes the chances of the suspect getting riled up by his tone, but it also makes the suspect’s aggression seem way more over the top than it actually is, to the point that it would probably make most suspects feel dumb and embarrassed by how overly angry they are. It’s giving positive gaslighting lol

If you can't deal with upset people, you are coddled. For the amount of money Dr's make, just let him sit there strum on his guitar in an empty waiting room, he would have been seen and on his way. But nooooooo, anyone with any autonomy is snuffed out, sure he is a cranky old man, defiant but not hurting anyone "But he was using mean words", get over it. This behaviour from the police costs everyone, tax payers, ambulance services. Push will always come to shove when people enforce their will on the public. Would it have killed the secretaries to listen to a little music, and not make a fuss about it wow

Him having a heart attack just became something for him to use to be a constant victim. He was already obviously a miserable man who probably has nobody around him because he has always been this hateful. I am guessing if he had any family or a wife they would have brought him to the doctor. That tells me he is this way towards everyone.

As a health care professional I have worked in about 6 different doctors offices and dealt with quite a few rude, combative, aggressive and abusive patients. Unfortunately a good majority of the time the doctor in charge of their care often made excuses for the patient and put the patients demands before the safety of staff. So I commend this doctor for backing up his staff and not allowing this patient to treat the staff in such a demeaning and aggressive manner. And wow, I am also very impressed with the patience of all police involved but the one officer definitely deserves an A+

I completely agree. Everyone, the office staff, the doctor, and all the officers and EMTs were calm, respectful, and firm. Really can’t ask for higher caliber professional behavior than that! This man was fortunate in the people he encountered this day; he could have received much worse treatment.

Law enforcement deal with the same things. Often times older folks have dementia, or psychological issues or disorders. My Dad had psychological problems. Schizophrenia to be exact. He challenged police and was tased. As law enforcement, I understand why they tased him. My Dad would become very combative and argumentative.
