@@HeavyMachineryEquipment I totally agree with you. However, the Dutch company Mammoet is testing at this very moment a new ELECTRICAL crane that can lift 6.000 metrical tons. Even you and I understands that this crane is a stationary crane but it still runs on rails. I don’t know exactly how big the diameter must be of this behemoth but it must be genormous! They keep design, manufacturing and installation in their own hands to lower the cost dramatically. As you could have already guessed it’s the largest crane in the world and designed in parts that fit in a 40” roofless containers and are unloaded and directly loaded with sand at the destination, thus serving as a counterweight for this mega monster. By all means take a peek at their site, you wouldn’t believe what they’ve built.

In runs on 12 volt, remote controlled, crane is equipped with 6 cameras so that the driver/operator could stay at home and steer the whole bloody thing from his own house, sitting in his most comfortable chair with three beers and a bucket of popcorn!
