I'm loving watching your videos, can't wait to see the WCML after watching the preview. It's nice to spot the disused stations and gatekeepers cottages along the routes (mostly now privately owned by the look of them).

When it was the station buffet it was owned and run by my great aunt Mabel Phillips. Her husband Clarence was on the platform.

Interesting video, I used to sign the road from Wrawby Jc. to Worksop yard back in the 1970s. Thrumpton West Jc. was always known as Whiskerhill Jc. back then, when was the name changed?

Not sure. That is what it appears in the Quail map book as, but during my time in the control at Nottingham and Doncaster I always knew it as Whisker Hill. Hence my comment in the description.

Still Whisker Hill to me

nice run out. not travelled that line. a real shame about all those HTA wagons, what a waste of money, barely used, less than half their life expectancy.... if the rail companies had known of coal's fall from favour, I reckon they'd have kept the old HAA merry-go-round wagons going for a lot longer.

No mention of the closed Checkerhouse station between Retford and Worksop?
