Very interesting. When my wife abd I and 3 kids moved to Australia 51 years ago we bought our first home at Melton. It was a small town with a population of under 6,000 and two pubs. .If you went by train to Melbourne the first stop was Deer Park. How things have changed. I don't know much about the N class consist but it sounds like a diesel electric combo.

Enjoyed the ride. Did view the Bacchus Marsh leg yesterday. So in the wrong order. Thanks anyway. As I said, we plan to train from Mont Aibert/ Surry Hills now Union Station to Southern Cross then on to Bacchus Marsh. thanks again.

Talk about how many ways to get to Sp St,new departure plat forms,behind nth melb on the old coburg deptr and arrivals. White City sold tickets there in the afternoon when I first joined the VR in 1964.

Would’ve been there a while ,think there was about 4 a day that stopped there,2 in each peak ,Also there was one each peak that terminated there and returned to Fl St.course I’m talking 1964.

That’s what they want to do over here at Greensy as well! Make it into apartment city like Doncaster & Heidi (Heidelberg) eventually it will be like that! It won’t b the same ever again when I’m older anyway!

@@driver667 I live in an apartment city and it’s getting very congested. Driving down local streets can be awkward because of parked cars on both sides of the street. No one here likes it and I certainly don’t believe an apartment is a good place to raise children especially if there are few parks. I don’t think it’s progress But we all have different opinions and that’s how it should be. 😃

The endless graffiti and strewn rubbish along,especially on our metro lines,is a sad state of affairs. On the stony pt line,dumped mattresses and sofas seem to have been there decades😟
