Drivers view Tasmania, Penguin to Ulverstone, Mar 2024

Road , Rail and sea, all so close to each other... No wonder that I loved driving trucks down the coast? Some of the railway marker signs seem closer to the highway than the rail? Great views going past the The Three Sisters Islands (a favourite spot on the road to watch trains), too. Tasmania has some beaut spots to drive right beside the train? This piece of road must be one of the best? Thanks for sharing..

I'm privaleged to have lived in my motorhome in West Ulverstone for a couple of years, and had a block in Riana 12km to the south. I drove this road nearly every day between Penguin and West Ulverstone and it remains my favourite length of road along any coastline in the country. Thanks so much for bringing it to life from the railway side. :)

@driver667 The horn sounds not-too-dissimilar to Aurizon 4000 class, but much louder. I'd be interested to learn if it's annoying for Tasrail drivers at all.

@krisb51 I haven't heard any drivers complain about the noise of the loco whistle. It's not as loud in the cab. 👍😀
