@ЉВЈ
@ЉВЈ 2 жыл бұрын
@Craig Dendy Exactly. The citizens of US and EU are so brainwashed that they believe that their countries brutally killed millions of civilians and destroyed tens of countries "defending democracy". Iraq, Lybia, Siria, Afghanistan, Serbia, many Latin America, African and Asian countries. That is why three fourths of the world do not support the West pushing Ukraine to perish in this way. Russia is just mildly copying what US and NATO have been savagely doing for decades across the world. Not to mention mass extermination of civilians in two Japanese cities by the US at the end of WW2. Or Black slavery and genocide, and Black segregation to this day.

NGL the explosion and damage was very calculated. The damage sent fear to those Putin-supporting Russians living in Crimea. And by leaving only one lane available they allowed them to flee back to Russia and managed to sort out who supports Ukraine and who supports Russia. Thus, making it easier to control Crimea in the aftermath. And the clogging of the road meant that tanks and other equipment won't be able to use the bridge for a longer period of time.

This is why Ukraine only destroyed the lane going into Crimea, so that the Russian civilians can still get out. Once they stop leaving, the bridge will probably be destroyed fully. That will trap all the Russian military equipment that has been sent there.

Mmm... don't know about that. I presume they could reallocate the 2 remaining lanes, one each way.

I imagine this increases the likelihood that Russian aligned citizens will want to flee Crimea and the occupied territories, because they recognize the risk that they could become trapped there is now very real. I think many of the collaborators have already left, but this will hopefully get the rest of them to leave while they have the chance. Saves the need to sort them out later.

Russia takes joy in slaughter civilians, so it will be difficult to control some elements from taking revenge on Russian. If I were Russian I would leave Crimea and not come back until after the war ends, one way or the other. Before Putin screwed everything up, many Russian lived there and as a matter of fact I heard that many Ukrainians would join the Russian navy in Crimea.
@ncc74656m
@ncc74656m 2 жыл бұрын
@@Privat2840 I believe that latter part. I think however that the Ukrainians are exercising incredible self restraint because any evidence of war crimes - or even crimes after the fact - will be used to justify the war and "retaliation." Here's hoping Ukraine takes the Russian property and disposes of it to displaced Ukrainian civilians as reparations.

My impression is that the rail bridge was damaged much more than Russia has admitted. Regardless of who did this and how, it is obvious that the ability of Russia to resupply Crimea and the area has been significantly reduced. Putin's reaction that this is a terroristic action fains disbelief with ⁿ the tantrum like anger of a child. This doublespeak and posturing occurs while he continues to target covilians and critiical infrastructure on an ongoing basis. Apparently the irony of his words and actions escapes him.
