Nice video. I'm hoping the 2020 Taco is similar. Do I need anything special or will a grease gun from the auto parts store and some grease be enough?

All you need is that grease gun and Grease from the auto parts store. Have fun have some spare rags with you by the way so you can wipe off the extra grease the leaves behind. 😁

That’s about it. Check around your wheels but I think everything else is pretty sealed system.

Thank you for this. I have a 2006 Tacoma and the last time I had a mechanic grease the driveshaft, he said the U joint needed a special ‘needle’ end to the grease gun to fit into the zerk. Have you ever had to use this kind of attachment to the grease gun? Would you kindly do a video showing that? ☺️. I do all the oil and spark plug changes on my good, old truck, and I’d like to take care of this detail, too. Thanks!

That’s odd, I have no idea what he is talking about. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Maybe it’s a needle to punch a hole into a rubber bellows to grease behind it? Hmm.

I think that is needed on ujs that don't have a zerk fitting.

Grease gun neddle adapter , $5,$10 dollars Oreillys . For tight spaces like ujoints

You really should purge all the old grease out. That 4 or 5 pumps barely got any new grease to the needle bearings.

Yeah. You should be liberal with this grease and force out old grease. You have plenty with this cheap grease.

I'm about to install a Spicer U joint (5-1330-1X). . . can I use a multi-purpose Synthetic Polymer grease such as waterproof 'green grease' in it?

Should have kept pumping until new grease come out. That's how we grease heavy equipment here in Canada. You only count pumps when you grease the slide yalk, Wich your truck doesn't have from what I can see...

2014 2wd Can't locate, cleaned spray wipe flashlight, nothing. No zerc & Nowhere to put a zerc.

That would be a sealed unserviceable u-joint then. Not all you joints have Zirk‘s for greasing.

@@atlyvwire thank you, I greased them anyway. I greased everything with bushings too and it still squeaks. I think I need new rear sway bar arms or pins.

I have no idea. I cannot see your u-joint from here. 😄 Look all over it if there’s not a broken grease zert. I found a zert fitting broken on my u-joint and had to tap it out and screw in a new one.

@@atlyvwire My first original u-joints didn't have any either on my 2007 Tacoma. But when I replace them, they now have zerts on them that can be maintained.
