Very complete and fair review in which you cover the important aspects of what makes the car unique, practical, and very useable as a daily car, while still possessing the unequaled acceleration of a super car-which most soccer moms don’t need, but is good to know the power is there when needed. Very balanced and unbiased review, unlike the obviously highly-biased and cherry-picking Edmunds ‘review’

Calling the Rimac Nevera a production car is a bit of a stretch. It is unlikely you'll be seeing this car on your commute. Granted, the Plaid is no cheap car either, but it is a sedan, could be used for a commute and costs a fraction of the price.

I like the video overall, thumbs up. Some minor things, it's kWh and not kW per hour. Second thing, I don't think this car should be compared to the s class. You can get the exact same car for 40k USD less just without the insane acceleration (just crazy acceleration, 3.2 instead of 2.1 sec to 100kph) so this is the price point you should compare this car feature wise to other cars. With plaid you pay for the performance and so you should compare it primarily against cars that can give you even remotely similar performance. Mercedes S class is not one of them. If you want to compare Model S price wise to anything on the market, compare it against the price point of the Long Range version and not plaid.
@zbyszanna3 жыл бұрын
As for the key, you get an app with your car and you're supposed to use it instead of the key. The app is functional and very handy and the car even detects when you approach it and will present the for handles automatically. No need for the key at all. Another thing, the regen braking is configurable so you can choose which style suits you best, but I would implore you to try so called single foot driving. It requires a certain period of getting used to, but in my opinion is much better than traditional accelerate and brake.
@DriveSteady3 жыл бұрын
Eventually I did end up getting used to the single foot driving and I liked it. You have to feather the accelerator and get a feel for it so you can use it smoothly but once you do, its good.
@jamespaul18353 жыл бұрын
Great review. I would of liked to hear your take on the 22 speaker stereo and maybe touch on how the app interacts with the car but otherwise you covered almost everything. If you have any experience with other cars that I believe this competes with like the Mercedes E class or the BMW 5 series I would love to know (excluding the acceleration) what makes them better or worse. I’m talking about ride, handling road noise, build quality. Thanks again for the review.

For future reference, do more research before making a product review. Some of the things you said about the car are either outdated or just false. For example, the headlights and front bumper aren’t new. They’ve been the standard design since 2016.
@izsakitt37113 жыл бұрын
Informative review. - kilowatt*hour - not kilowatt per hour; kW is unit of power. 1 kW = 1.34 horse power. Energy is power times time that is power exerted for a period of time. 3 electric motors - not engines. To show the trunk space, unload your junk. There is a deep section under the trunk floor too.

As always a great review. I appreciate how you explain the details of the car's you review and answer my questions before I can ask them (Or so it seems). I think this is such a stupid name for a high performance model. It doesn’t seem to make sense. And the yoke looks like it would be so awkward to make a U turn. Seems like you would run out of places to place your hands after a few minutes. Your hands always need to be in the same place. Can you imagine a 4 hour drive? Give me a flat bottom wheel every time. But Elon's forward thinking needs to be recognized. It was so amusing to hear your heavy breathing in anticipation of launch control. I felt your angst. Good review.

I understand Tesla has reinvented the car from the gasoline cars, but to totally reinvented the car is beyond crazy. I don't like the yoke starring wheel and it's features. I don't like the 2 optional seat colors. I don't like the bevel around the computer screen, and I seen much better looking computer screens in New modern gasoline vehicles. I don't like moon roof only option. I don't like the one only kind of seat option and texture. I don't like the single center rear seat computer. The car has a serious over weight problem in which I don't like, but however among all that I don't like, I do love the car it self. The car itself can literally use a little more refinement.
