As the guy who owns the same car I totally agree with this video. Pretty much bulletproof engine, too small calipers and discs will start warping the discs. For the past 8 years I never serviced the car and it still works. Some problems with electronics (seats, automatic gearbox kickdown stopped working, AC unit).

Hi iSimplifiedTech! I have a 2005 CLK 320 and I love it! Unfortunately, the top is malfunctioning. No dealership would address my convertible issue (i live in Atlanta). But my local shop diagnosed a microswitch issue, then after 3 weeks, stated it was a cylinder issue then a couple of weeks later it was a pump issue. I think they are over their heads but I am out $1200 for "diagnostics & labor". My question is how long should it really take to diagnose the real issue???
@iSimplifiedTech2 жыл бұрын
Check your hydraulic fluid tank, left side of the trunk behind that liner opening. If it’s empty or low its clearly a leak in the system and that could be one or more cylinder leaking. If that’s still full it’s most likely a pump or micro switch.

Two places I've used with my CLK550 over the past 2 years are: Mercedes Only in Cummings, and Gibbs Auto Interiors and Accessories. in Jonesboro. Yeah, these Benzo dealers around the ATL are full of it. I'm from Chicago, and the dealerships there don't have the 7-year rule of your vehicle being too old. Look them up as I was referred to them by others, and have used them as well. I'll be going to Gibbs soon, since I have a similar issue with the 'Close Trunk Partition' error. Good Luck!
@echanlynneighbors-richmond794 Жыл бұрын
After re-reading your post I'm sorry you've had bad experiences. Todd at Mercedes Only is a really great guy, and with Gibbs, since my problem was an obvious Hydraulic cylinder line failure (they saw the leak, told me what lines to order, which I decided to get from Top Hydraulics located in Oregon), thus there were no true analysis of what had to be done. From what I've read all Hydraulic cylinders should be replaced simultaneously since not doing so will cause the old ones to fail. Feel free to reach out to Top Hydraulics as well with questions. 😎

Hi, many thanks for the video - I have a question, I also own a 2005 CLK 320 auto convertible, completely standard, love everything about it apart from one thing - when cruising at 70-80 mph, the engine is revving at approx 4000rpm, which seems ridiculously high to me. I checked I was getting all 5 gears, which I was. What revs are you getting at 70-80 mph?
@iSimplifiedTech4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the video. 4000rpms seems a lot to me for just 80mph ... are you driving in S (Sport) mode by any chance ? I will test out the revs soon I will let you know.
