The funny thing is that it's actually not 90 miles long, but just under 90 kilometers (55 miles) but that dosen't matter. It's great fun to drive there but keep an eye on the real wet sand :-)

That is an awesome experience. I would like to try that during my visit. Which car rental company would provide such service and when is the best moment of the year to try this?

You will need to check the fine print when renting a car, as a lot of them don't insure you if you go on the beach. During the summer and at low tide is the best time to do this.
