@@nicolasarias4967 That's a 6.6 Ford-New Holland diesel, though it does sound similar to the 5.9 Cummins. These buses didn't have the 5.9 Cummins until like, 1992.

I used to ride this bus with the same sound except the bus had a wheelchair lift it was 1992 ford thomas bus when it was bus-513 not only to school but to summer camp from 1993,1994,1995 & 1997 only in the summer when I had Mr.Woody & in 2002 during a summer job program I had the owner Celeste Savage when she drove

I Allen Shinn rode on a Ford American Thomas built school bus with Dayton 6 spoke, spoke type wheels, and the bus as I know used an automatic transmission as a Ford school bus as a F/B700 or 800 bus I Allen rode on here in Providence, RI back in Fall 1991.Dayton wheels come with 5 and 6 spokes on trucks and school buses, as the most common used spider type wheel. So yeah I rode on spokes as truck wheels named Dayton spoke wheels so many times as a school kid here in America. American made school buses were built with American and Mexican Steel as I may know of.

I rode on a Ford F/B700 school bus with Dayton 6 Spoke wheels. Spoke cast wheels gave me the ride. The rear wheels were 5 spoke as i know. The fron't axle had those 6 Spoke wheels.

Likely that guy is driving on Dayton 6 spoke American made wheels on that 24 year old American made Ford school bus. That bus is likely a 6 or 7 speed, with that speed transmission and runs on stick shift manural transmission. At 24 years old and built in 1988 that bus runs excellent still.- Allen Shinn

6.6l ford new Holland Brazilian diesel engine. One of he best engines made.

+NVHSChadSheppard1 It was replaced by the Cummins B5.9 (or, as Ford called it, the FD1060) in 1992. The small but mighty Cummins was a proven workhorse in the Dodge Ram full-size trucks.

I bet this bus will be retired in the future with the arrival of the electric school buses but I do think that this will get preserved by the museum and might have some history to it

This bus has a progressive transmission in it. I like seeing buses with the manual door controls. Not too many of these buses are built anymore.

6.6 L Ford diesel, most likely. The non turbo vesion is weak..the turbo version is barely adequate with a manual..the Allison AT version just kills the acceleration on either..
