I had the luxury of growing up the son of a massive Ford guy who happened to vintage race Shelbys. So I happen to have quite a bit of exposure around all of these cars at a very young age. The GT 40 was always my favorite car since I was about seven years old. And not many kids that young happen to know the history especially back in the early 90s. It just wasn’t as well-known or as massively popular as it is now. But I’m glad that everybody is Aware to a certain extent now.

When Ford had their offices in Irvine, CA I think they owned a house a couple doors down from mine in Lake Forest because I'd see all these cool cars parked in the driveway. The rear wing is hard mounted to the transaxle so when the car squats under hard acceleration you see the wing squat with it. Much more effect than a "poser" wing mounted to the body.

A chassis mounted wing is typically much stronger and more functional than a wing bolted to a body panel.

I lkke the body contours of the Mk. I GT40 better, but I think the Mk. II is more historically significant and I like the color scheme of Miles' #1 GT40 better. I also like the right hand-drive/right-hand shifter layout best.

Fantastic video and car, the soundtrack left me wanting more, I wanted to hear it screaming on a track and roaring thru downshifts in the turns!
