I had the luxury of growing up the son of a massive Ford guy who happened to vintage race Shelbys. So I happen to have quite a bit of exposure around all of these cars at a very young age. The GT 40 was always my favorite car since I was about seven years old. And not many kids that young happen to know the history especially back in the early 90s. It just wasn’t as well-known or as massively popular as it is now. But I’m glad that everybody is Aware to a certain extent now.

Well, they did this beautiful car but the 250 gto is a lot more famous. Plus ford has done 2 production race cars in history while Ferrari is the best and most famous company. I love the GT40 but Ferrari has always been superior.

I lkke the body contours of the Mk. I GT40 better, but I think the Mk. II is more historically significant and I like the color scheme of Miles' #1 GT40 better. I also like the right hand-drive/right-hand shifter layout best.

When Ford had their offices in Irvine, CA I think they owned a house a couple doors down from mine in Lake Forest because I'd see all these cool cars parked in the driveway. Before the GT was available to the public I saw one in the driveway of this house, same classic colors. It was there for a week or so and then gone.

The rear wing is hard mounted to the transaxle so when the car squats under hard acceleration you see the wing squat with it. Much more effect than a "poser" wing mounted to the body.

the door sills and cut out are designed to make it easier to get into. The open top allows you to step over the fuel tank and nearly stand up getting into the car. you then slide your butt into the seat and you're done. This isn't a Toyota Carola BTW 364 CI is not massive.
