I love how - even almost 40 years since the 1982 Pontiac Firearm/TransAm F-body style changed to what was represented in Knight Rider, that car STILL looks futuristic and awesome after all this time. Sure, there are some tweaks here and there over the years afterward, but the basic core of the designs remained until 2002, when the last one was made. There's a reason why its called a classic!

This replica looks FANTASTIC on the outside... the interior not so much, though. I'm guessing the builder's budget isn't very high or it's still a work in progress build. I'm a K.I.T.T. snob so I notice everything about these replicas. Missing switch pods behind the steering wheel. Missing overhead console. Wrong seats. Still a cool car that I'm sure is a ton of fun for the owner. I loved how you went to all of those filming locations which made this a really fun video!
@HelloRoad6 жыл бұрын

Carlos Clivilles you know is funny....I noticed the seats too. Not so much the other stuff.....but the seats stood out. Then again, he allows this to be rented out!! So there’s a def give and take with authenticity. I sure as hell wouldn’t rent ANY of my cars out....let alone a KITT replica!!

If you notice in the original series the exterior shots were always a mess. You can see wax they didnt off the car because they were constantly washing and re-waxing them. Theres always wax around the door handles and all over the exterior of the car. Back then people had smaller tvs and resolution was lower so they didnt think anyone would notice. Now with 70inch screens and HD all that stuff sticks out really bad.

Firstly what a great video! Beautifully put together, almost like travelling through time!!!. Lovely to see many locations haven't changed much. Im from Ireland and now 37 years old. I watched knight rider as a kid intrigued by the very 80s American opening sequence with the red sun casting it's light on the desert and this mysterious sharp beautiful car leaving it's dust trail! That image and music still sends a happy shiver through my body! A beautiful time when cars had edges and character! Thank you for reminding me and bringing alive again a great wonderful happy era. I now own a beautiful black 85 transam with right hand drive conversion!

Your very welcome! Yes in Ireland and UK there is a big following for American motors. In Ireland and all over the UK there are American car shows, we love them, especially the big old carbed Classics. Australian car enthusiasts seem to love their transams too. It's a right hand drive country also and until 2003 apparently any imported left hand drive cars by law had to undergo right hand drive conversion ( a big expensive job) but meant that the cars could be safely driven and enjoyed☺️.

Awesome video, I totally agree with you about the acceptance and people's attraction when driving. I know because I own KITT too. As for driving with the guildwing it requires practice after a long while is now just natural to drive but I most say that the KITT used for the show had to be modified so he would be able to drive it easier by moving the seat back a little bit further. You are a little bit tall and that can be an issue when driving. It was awesome to see the filming locations and hear your comments. Us Knight Rider car owners that live in LA are so lucky to have all these locations so close, sometimes we just feel like the lone crusador, lol. Any way thanks for making that cool video. #FotoRider

Awesome vid as always! I remember regular car reviews complaining about that steering wheel, glad that future never happened

Thanks for watching :) Yeah, it's totally fine when you're going straight, just don't ever turn!

Nice! Now I want one. I wish my parents had never gotten rid of our trans am with tan interior back in the late 80’s. I could’ve inherited a TV legend. :(

Excellent video!! Your superimpositions of old footage on new footage showing the exact real life locations was OUTSTANDING!!! Overall, loved the vid. Had an American gf once who told me her favourite car had been a Firebird. It was black. And she outran some cops once upon a time in it!! Mental stuff!! Thanks for posting this lovely video.

At 2:26 That has always been one of the major complaints when it came to K.I.T.T was the steering wheel. However ( I can not recall who it was ) figured it out. The problem with the steering wheels in replica cars is they are made out of resin, light material. He had his made in an all sturdy cast aluminum. The solid heavier weight of the steering wheel was so easy to drive he used two fingers. It made the world of difference. SO for those of you interested in one of these cars, make sure the steering wheel is weighty and solid.

Great job on the video. Fun and cool camera angles. Had some feel of the old show with KITT driving around. Especially liked how you mixed the old footage with the current locations. That took some work!

Sorry, I had to pause the video to make this comment. Now I'm building a replica in the UK so the first half of the video was nothing new, but dude I gotta say, the way you over layed scenes from the show with real life video from today is insane! Never seen anything like it 👌 so cool man 😎

I loved the sound kitt had on acceleration sounded like a supercharger wine. Such a cool car. Like to see a kitt with a 6.0 V8. I loved the 89' formula 350 firebirds.
