Great video Randy, from somebody watching for a long time from the Uber Man days. As someone with a Model 3 with 94k miles, I had to chuckle a little at your "noob owner" experiences that we ALL go through LOL! I have multiple road trips and they don't really take any appreciably longer- you'll get better and learn to trust the car more. You are spot on with the many advantages and you'll only learn to love the car more with time. One suggestion- don't get the pricey wall charger! Just install a 220V dryer plug for the charger you already have as it is more than sufficient.

Yo, I know you probably already know this but I figured I would share. I'm 45 and have been homeless once and now I do well because I built passive income that would support my family etc. I almost went homeless again during the last economic downturn. I hope you're establishing yourself with passive because KZbin might not always pay out what they are currently. Yada yada yada. Either way, I just want to see you continually succeed. Keep up the great work bro.

Randy does not appear to be investing in his financial long term security. Rather he seems to be building a debt portfolio. Of course, lenders are eager to extend credit based on Randy’s KZbin revenue. However, as Carl B stated, establishing sources of passive income is what is needed for the long term. I hope that Randy is getting solid financial advice and salting away some of his new found prosperity.

Randy, however much it cost you to go sit down and eat or drink something, that is what you need to figure for the expense to charge your car. You wouldn't have spent that money otherwise. Sometimes there is a casino there and it can cost hundreds of dollars to charge the car.

Not only superchargers there are destination chargers (most pay) that are even more places. Go to a motel that has one and charge it while you are sleeping. When you plan the trip in the car tell the car it is a round trip so it can better calculate charging. Have you set up sentry mode on the car that will record if something happens when parked or while driving. You just need to plug a formatted USB thumpdrive for storage

Very professional and informative video (the series of 3 so far). I prefer how your car looked at the first charge station on your way to Texas when you came out and a couple more Tesla's were charging. The one next to yours (appeared about the same color) had the dark wheels and IMO didn't stand as tall and proud as yours did. I wish you well with the car, your dealership and your life. (I think you drove us by some new houses a couple video's ago that you might be moving to - whatever! As long as all of you are happy it makes us happy. Sonny (CT)

I was thinking about it while I was watching this video. Time vs. Money. My car has a capacity of 18.5 gallons and I usually get right at 17 gallons every fill up. With gas floating a little over $2 a gallon. A fillup is equivalent to my hourly pay. I get 400 miles ish to the tank. So an hour charge=an hour of my time. 1 tank fill up=my hourly pay. There is a 150 mile difference between the two and the Tesla has 0 maintenance so I’d say it’s pretty close. Interesting comparison. That is Tesla IS pretty slick.

I just bought a PHEV Mitsubishi Outlander and it's great.. only short journeys of 20 to 30 miles on battery alone but fast charges in 20 -30 mins or overnight at the house, great for my daily commute as i only do 20 miles a day.. and in the UK we have road tax.. and its £0.00 for the tax on my car due to it's very low emissions 👍

I like the look of the Tesla and the promise it shows, but the limitations of the existing battery technology makes it not quite ready for prime time to me. The advent of newer battery types (dry cell, etc) have the potential to increase range substantially in a few years and could also herald a price drop for EVs. Until that time, I'll stick to the sidelines and enjoy my Equus. With gas prices in my area hovering around 1.69 a gallon, I can justify a nice long road trip solely for the sake of driving.

Great video with lots of real-life facts for those who don't yet drive electric! However, I do want to make a small correction. At 26:00 you mentioned that the P100D should be slower than P90D, which in turn is slower than P85D, because you figured the smaller battery would be lighter. But Tesla made the P100D faster than P90D, and P90D faster than P85D. They can pull more power (higher current) out of the bigger batteries that more than compensates for any extra weight. So I would not suggest that you try to drag race a P100D!

You might try spraying Pam on the front of your car if you are going to drive when a lot of bugs are out. Get to where you are going and just hose the front end off.
