No so, it depends of the vehicle usage. Long haul, maybe. Regional is fine. As highlighted, the most important now is to build the charging infrastructure

Zzz Zzz sorry boss truck stil loading...550 km with an empty truck... 😂 but I hope there are some foodshops by the loading places. Normal you can self decide where to stop for your break, now you must stop where you can load. And loading in you free time. When you tank diesel, its working time... just saying.

He said at the end, 46 minutes from 26% to 100% so with the 350kwh chargers... since drivers need to stop two times and it will have better range in the summer it seems like its doable today if the infrastructure catches up, not for every load, but for a large portion. My only worry is how well batteries hold up, charging them to 100% is not ideal but we are getting very close and I think that issue is gonna be a thing of the past soon anyway, batteries will last so long that the truck it self will be ready for the scrap heap before the battery eventually.

So you drove 189 miles the first day. That would pay a US trucker $11.40. So he's not going to eat today. Which is OK in your book, because he'll need to take his 45 minute break, babysitting a charger! Total trip 357 miles, or $21.50 total in 2 days. I drive 357 miles before 8 o'clock in the morning. How is it a 45 minute break, if you're working!!! WhoTF is this helping? I love EV cars. I love V8 Scanias! My Great Uncle drove the first Hybrid Porsches 80+ years ago. Why not a Hybrid truck, like Edison Motors is doing? Do you think China will electrify Africa, for Scania's trucks? Not with the Chukudu making a huge mark on the Dark Continent! lol!

$11.40 for 189 miles? Either that's a scam, or you're lying. European prices are much, much different (and vary country by country). 45 min break is mandatory every 4 and a half hours, so it's ok to recharge during that time

Eat, a Nap, go take a shit? But this guy has to stand there, like when you're fueling, But for 45 minutes! Again unpaid here.

European truck drivers get paid by the hour. They do not need to run 100s of miles to make a living, or live in their trucks. This is a road test by Scania and Commercial Motor for promotional reasons. The terrain, weather and country type roads prove this. It is showing the advances in Battery life and range, here in cold weather. Will Shiers is a well respected international truck journalist. The top up of batteries at break time is ideal as it is 45 minutes. You can as others mentioned plug it in and walk away. You can not book it as work but most companies will pay a set fee for fueling time on a daily basis. Pre trips and post trips are paid as you are on duty all time and these are listed on the electronic log print outs. You can not compare driving in Europe to North America. 🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
