People can bad mouth Ford, and I can understand sometimes but its cars like these that brought attainable transportation, freedom and independence to the common American.

Start the video and then start the car! 😄 You and Mr. Paul Shinn are great together, made for awesome episodes for both your channels! The '29 is a great car, not only because it is unrestored, but so cool that Paul knows it's story. It's NOT just an old car! Thank you!!!

The Model A Ford was a very simple very basic transportation car that was easy to work on. When I was growing up the most basic simple car I drove was a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle that my father purchased. This Volkswagen Beetle was about 40 horsepower, like the Model A Ford. Also this car had a 6 volt electrical system with the battery under the rear seat. I noticed that the Model A Ford had a six volt electrical system with a battery below the front floorboard. On the Model A Ford the gas tank is right in front of the driver with a direct float mechanical fuel gauge. The 1965 Volkswagen Beetle had a 10 gallon gas tank located in the front trunk. Also the fuel gauge has a mechanical gauge with a mechanical cable going from the top of the gas tank to the gauge on the dashboard. With all the modern car safety rules and all the modern emission control rules and the desire to have lots of creature comforts we will never again see cars built as basic and simple as the Model A Ford and the Type 1 Volkswagen Beetle.

Great drive and talk. It's a simple car but you can feel the craftsmanship even on video. Even though this car is almost 100 years old it still looks great and the story is fantastic. I love a good story. My dad's friend has a few Model As. I got to sit in a rough unrestored coupe he pulled out of a barn but I've never been able to drive one of them.

That's not the Three Rivers area/Lake Kaweah, is it? Pretty awesome old car, a small part of me would kinda like an original-ish A pickup, but I doubt I could keep myself from building a ratty hot rod (not a rat rod, just no shiny stuff) out of it, haha!

I believe that a GOOD original will be much nicer to drive than even the best resorted example. I relatively inexperienced when it comes to model As-My 31 Tudor is my only one, although I’ve had it for about eight years and I have put many miles on it. But I have owned and currently on quite a few Volkswagens. I’ve had everything from $300 beaters to some truly nice examples. I own a couple of high dollar restoration/custom examples currently. But the nicest to drive have always been low mileage, low mileage originals. Some years ago, I drove a 1971 super beetle with 47,000 original miles on it. A one owner car, never restored just maintained properly. It was quiet, rode great, was smooth, and the heater put out a lot of heat. Everything had a very high-quality feel to it. You could see why people bought them. Not even my nicest, professionally restored cars are as nice as that. I also purchased a 1978 panel bus about 10 years ago to use in my plumbing business. Not strictly for advertising purposes, but as an actual service vehicle. When I got it it had about 40,000 miles on it. It now has over 200,000 miles on it and has been bulletproof reliable and still drives very well. I am convinced this is because it has never been restored, just driven and well cared for. I am currently on the hunt for my next Model A and I’m hoping to find something that is similar. Not a restored car, but one that has been well cared for. I had a chance of driving friends four-door some years ago it was properly dialed in, I was blown away at how nice that car is the drive. My friend told me it was a combination of having a nice original car, and using original parts rather than replacement parts.

I have a 71 Super bug myself. I will have to restore it, though, it needs help badly. The body is in great shape which is what I was looking for the most. I should be able to keep the original engine, tranny and interior, but it has been painted (poorly) at least twice, so will have to have it professionally painted. I'm thinking a light blue of some sort.

I saw this and was wondering if you'd use your normal review format, but I agree, it would not work so well with this car, be like "Hey guys, my name is Zack and TODAY I'm driving a 1929 Ford Model A. I'm super excited to be driving this 1929 Ford Model A for a couple of reasons... my great, great grandfather drove a Model A just like this one when he was dating my great, great grandmother during the Great Depression. They got 200,000 miles out of it and handed it down to my grandparents in 1949 who drove it until 1969. My mother actually came home from the hospital in that Model A when she was born. Yeah, they don't make 'em like they used to!

90 ft-lb or about 120 nm - it's not much, 1 liter engines have about that. Fiat has a 1.3 engine giving 200 nm or about 148 ft-lb

I know is a lot, but maybe launching a review and a video like this after, maybe shorter, about driving the car and talking about it with the owner if the owner wants to. Is a nice opportunity to make 2 videos per car and increasing views, some people want a drive video and others a review. Or maybe a POV after a review video. POVs are popular as well
