It really is. Up in the hills the houses are 5 million dollars but the main part of the city is a bit run down.

I have a story that took place at the crosswalk @ 1:40 March 2011, my buddies and I had just gotten out of a show at the HoB, and were standing at that light waiting for our turn to cross. Next to us, and man and his girlfriend were also waiting. He appeared sober, but she was black-out wasted to the point that he was having trouble controlling her. She was insistent that they cross the street immediately, and he was trying to tell her that there were cars coming and that they had to wait. He was literally holding her arm and pulling her back onto the sidewalk. He let got for a second and bam, there she went. She straight stumbled across the busy-ass street like Mr. Magoo, with cars swerving around her and laying on their horns. Me and my buddies were literally closing our eyes and looking away from the inevitable carnage that was about to happen. Somehow, by the grace of whatever make believe god they pray to, she made it across unscathed.

I use GoPro labs to increase the bitrate to 200, 5.3k/60fps, ISO 100/100, color natural. Then I enhance the color a little when editing.

It's not an actual city, just a section of LA. West Hollywood is an independent city.
