I used to reside in Shelbyville from 1974-1980 as I was Director of the Shelbyville Public Library. This video brought back many fond memories of a beautiful town with great people! You missed so much as the video should have been twice as long. The Shelbyville City Park with the old Chautaugua Auditorium and etcera 👍 Population used to be right at 5, 000, so sadly the numbers have dropped to 4,674.

Yes well I remember when I was in a boys home (Webster Cantrell Hall) they took us on a field trip and we went to a swimming pool and all the white people started getting out the pool...We thought something was wrong with the water, so we started getting out too, when we got out, the white people started gettin back in, that's when we knew...and when we left they came out and called us a bunch of n words and all that, and I was gonna fight em, but the staff held us back...that was in this town called Shelbyville...hella racist
