There is a river that the viaduct crosses after the baseball stadium. Believe it or not normal animals like turtles live there. Need your car fixed in Queens and you have cash? There are garages on the east side of Mets Stadium just off Northern that will do it reasonably. You have not been to Flushing alot until you have had your car fixed there.

Charrua NYC has wanted the area closed and hotels put up instead. The garages hire people for entry level work. You would think politicians would want this. The garages are denied sewers and occasionally cops show up and write tickets as a form of harassment. I have used the garages and been satisfied with their work.

It's like driving on the surface of the moon where those shops are, I used to park there for Mets games at night in the 90s when I had an old beater.
