As a passenger on this trip, it was a pleasure to sit back with my feet up to see what I miss as I am always behind the wheel. It was a wonderful feeling as I noted the streets, businesses and all 'we' passed. I was not thinking about Emanuel AME (at 18 minutes) when the driver turned onto Calhoun from Meeting. That caught me off guard as I was not in town when the shooting happened, however, I was glued to the television as soon as the news broke into programming. Thanks much for such a relaxing ride in a city I love! I will be back to 'ride' again!

Notice the times of day he chooses to drive, that's why most places appear desolate. Not really wise to do a driving video during peak rush hours. Walking videos on the other hand, you can do when everything is crowded.

It's so interesting how the palm trees in South Carolina are so unique in their own way. They look completely different from the palm trees in Florida. And the palm trees in Florida look completely different than the palm trees in California.

I am not from America... but is that literally the speed limit of driving on city roads? Because that looks pretty slow for me who lives in Singapore. Although, do tell me if the speed limit varies every city or state.
@PerthTowne6 жыл бұрын
Speed limits do vary from state to state. But generally, speed limits are low within cities for safety reasons.
@anoncrazynonevilgooddecent76315 жыл бұрын
speed limit is different in every state so it depends, and in some cities in the state it is different than other cities but usually it is not that slow it is act ally faster

It's funny, I've always heard charleston compared to savannah, but I've been to savannah and judging from this video, charleston looks a lot less ghetto than savannah
@LeConteSkier7 жыл бұрын
Savannah unlike Charleston is NOT FAKE!!!! I hate the way people dress extra just to go downtown in this crap hole. Savannah and expecially Broughton Street rocks!!!
@chuckhuckle5 жыл бұрын
Savannah is great for teenagers on st Patrick's day. If you would like to step in vomit or get robbed than Savannah Ga is a great choice.
@kas35834 жыл бұрын
@@LeConteSkier sadly u are right. charleston is now one of the most gentrified cities in the country. you barely run into anyone with a native charleston accent anymore. all the Gullah people have been priced out of the city and its being overrun by Midwesterners who never seen a beach before and want to escape the cold
@markthrasher67703 жыл бұрын
Lots of flooded sidewalks and standing water in curbside gutters. Yep, definitely a Southern city.....

Does anybody know about a private swinger type discreet club called gibbs or gribbes on downton charleston sc? Someone told me about it. He actually went inside the club. It does not seem like it on the outside. There is a sign that says gibbs or gribbes. Any locals or cab drivers know about it?

There's a WHOLE LOTTA sitting around and waiting for lights to change in your videos. Could you consider pausing the recording at red lights? i like your camera work and driving, but all the waiting on traffic lights lessens the enjoyment, for me.

@WalksandSuch6 жыл бұрын
kind of...but not really, at least compared to other american cities like Philly, Boston, Baltimore, or St. Louis. Those cities have actual large areas of "Olde World" style urban organization and architecture. In my opinion, Charleston looks a lot more colonial/southern plantation style than European.
@MeadeSkeltonMusic5 жыл бұрын
@@WalksandSuch that is British.
@kas35834 жыл бұрын
@Adam LB for most of charleston's history it has had a black majority as it was a major slave port. if this video was made in the late 80s early 90s the demographics would have been reversed. as for the african accent i guess you are referring to the Gullah culture. its is still in existence and those people are there just not as prevalent as it once was sadly. these days you can barely find a native Charlestonian in the city

I refer you to the facts as to how Charleston handled the Emanuel AME Church shooting. Run a search to read articles and view news reports. I say hello to those I do not know without considering anything that may cause others to discriminate. Noting this video was shot a few weeks after the shooting. The church is seen at 18 minutes... a moment my eyes filled with tears as one read my children stories at the library and it was my pleasure to know another as a manager a few years prior. Visit Charleston to get a feel for the area to make your own decision. #CharlestonStrong
