Sergio Sanz The city’s economy centered (centers) around the auto industry. Over the past few decades, most of those jobs were shipped overseas. Also, unions demanded too much money from companies. This also played a huge role in the overseas shipment of jobs. As a result, their economy has been decimated, because they didn’t have a diverse portfolio, consisting of many different industries - like Chicago or NYC does. Most of their population was forced to move elsewhere.

***** You saying that because you think I don't know that? lol. What does that have to do with white people hanging out after dark? like I said shootings in Detroit aren't random their usually between drug dealers, gangs, domestic conflicts, ect. and a high crime rate doesn't mean every single part of Detroit is dangerous, just like every part of Chicago, New Orleans, Memphis, Miami, Philly isn't dangerous. All of those cities have been in the top 10 as well yet white people still hang out at night in those cities. Detroit is no different.

Detroit's truly making a comeback, to see how the city is now compared to how things were in the 90s and early 2000s, downtown during those years was just filled with nothing but empty skyscrapers and vacant lots, now its more lively than its ever been, I truly believe in a few more years that Detroit would start seeing more population growth in other parts of the city being revitalized.

I have a tour where I walked an hour across Detroit saw basically no abandoned houses no violence and people even spoke to me even passed nice big houses in a few clean grass cut neighborhoods , Moral of the story don't let the media fool Detroit's crime rate is significantly low and has declined every year there hasn't even been one hundred murders this year but then again the year isn't over from we been out of bankruptcy for years now and Detroit is worth $277 Billion dollars , it has condos , Arena's , stadiums , houses being built , houses getting fixed every day and jobs keep on popping up including the new plants getting built soon if you want to see the video I would be happy to release as well there are tons of mansions in the City and historical homes

It’s gonna take waaaaaay longer than a few years. It’ll be at least 25-30 years.....maybe even longer. You don’t repair the damage that’s been done overnight. It was too monumental. The occupancy spaces of those buildings are still 80% vacant, and there’s still barely anyone in the city. It still looks like something out of “I am Legend.” A city like this should look like Chicago, in terms of hustle and bustle. It’s nowhere near that.

Detroit has a nice downtown. I love the art deco buildings. I think the press gives Detroit a bad name just for the media ratings. Of course there are bad areas, just like in any other American city. I certainly don’t see the “dangerous no mans land” they talk bout all the time.

American cities are so strange. Skyscrapers alongside empty streets with hardly any pedestrians. Almost post apocalyptic. Cities in Europe and Asia, even much smaller towns , are all so vibrant and full of commotion.

I spent two nights in Detroit in the summer of 2015...what an interesting city Detroit was. Many of the areas around downtown had clearly seen better days, but downtown itself was surprisingly lively.

The people are crazy and funny there as well. They've got good food. There was this old beat up place called 'Greens BBQ' had some of the best bbq I've ever had. Then Miley and Miley's had some good fried shrimp used to eat there all the time. The vibe there is something else. People are really interesting there.

there are no seven elevens here just in the suburbs there is an Amtrak and a train that is new and being put further under expansion , to correspond to the 367 million dollar arena being built , there are busses
@lt30967 жыл бұрын
Buses stop running after 7:00 pm they were still building the tracks for the rails you saw. During the week after 5:00 pm people usually go home. There are not a lot of franchises downtown. Honestly this video covered about 70% of downtown

Many areas of Detroit's arterial network of roads have become so devoid of traffic that it is now a paradise for cyclists. Once a void opens up it will always be filled in one way or another.

Yes, there were a number of areas you could have covered in that 45 min. time frame. This footage from the Hart Plaza area captures the time to be around 7pm.
