Can you elaborate? What in particular is pleasant about the place? There is a dreariness to it, looking at this; The low buildings, the oppressive gray and the lack of green, the penury of human traces, what is there to compensate for these apparent shortcomings
@pummisher11864 жыл бұрын
@@valeria-militiamessalina5672 Downtown is a terrible example of Saskatoon. Go onto Google Streetview and you can take a look at where all the nicer areas are. Dan C This is a very grey day right at the end of winter.... worst times to film would be late fall and very early spring. In the summer there is greenery everywhere, people out on the streets, pots of flowers in the medians and on the street corners. There are almost weekly festivals going on downtown... the riverbank around the Bessborough hotel and River Landing is filled with people running/ cycling/ walking. This video does not do the city justice at all. As for your comment about low buildings... I suppose if you are keen on a big city with skyscrapers that shut out the sun and the beautiful sky ( Saskatchewan is known for this), then you are right - Saskatoon is not the city for you.

I live here and they are brutally unclear. In the winter, the ice and snow gets packed so hard on the road, that it's like an ice rink. To stop people from sliding into each other, they cover the roads with gravel to add traction. As the ice melts, the ground up gravel acts like sandpaper and removes all the lines off the road... not that people here ever pay attention to the lines, signs, pedestrians, or other drivers on the road anyway.

I lived there for about a year in the early 80's, and the only month it didn't snow was July. Honest to God, it snowed the first week of June and the last week of August. In between it was hot, windy, and dusty, and there were trucks pumping out clouds of mosquito poison at night, though I never saw or felt a mosquito the whole time. Maybe it worked.
