I'm really enjoying the Baja videos - hope to be moving to Ensenada soon. I don't own a car - just use public transportation here in the Washington, DC area. I can't wait to be where you are! Thanks for sharing your videos. I show them to my family & friends so they won't worry about me after I move there.

Thank you Joy! We’re so glad that you’re enjoying our videos. The video on residency, that we did in Ensenada, is a great contact for you. Carlos’ (the attorney) daughter is a local realtor and can help you. You should be fine with public transportation. If you don’t know Spanish make sure to start working on conversational Spanish. It will help you. Hope you’re having a great week! 🙂

Do you remember how long it took to drive from Ensenada to Colonet? Google says 1 hour 48n minutes. Just looking for an approximate "real" drive time. Thanks!
@GeneandRenee

Lisa, we really don’t remember. But with traffic and road conditions what they are, I would double any times you find on Google or Maps. Potholes and farm animals slow you down. Thank you for watching our channel! Happy New Year! 🥳

Loved the drive along with you guys. I do have a question though. Is part of Baja in California and part in Mexico or is all of Baja in Mexico? Was curious. I hear about a lot of dune buggies out in Baja riding the hills. I just was unclear of the territory lines.
@Cuauhtemoc3
@Cuauhtemoc3 Жыл бұрын
All of baja is in Mexico. There are actually 2 bajas. Baja California sur & Baja California Norte.
@GeneandRenee
@GeneandRenee Жыл бұрын
El Chicano is absolutely correct. When we crossed into Mexico, just south of San Diego, that put us in the state of Baja California. Right before we arrived in Guerrero Negro we crossed state lines into Baja California Sur (south). That state runs all the way to the bottom of the peninsula. Hope you’re having a good week! 😎

That was not on the direct route from La Paz to Todos Santos. Are you talking about the town or the restaurant by that name? We can certainly do a day trip!
@whatthesnell

@@GeneandRenee Along the way from La Paz but not on the same road, you would have had to turn left on 1 for a few. Really cool old mining town, very authentic. Worth going back for unless you know you'll be in the area again. I assume you're heading back that way anyways but a fun day trip for sure.

You two are bada**es! We’re going to Guanajuato City in sept with our elderly chihuahua and just don’t feel safe driving from Phoenix down so I think we’ll fly with him. We’re not familiar with the roads like you two experts 🙌
@GeneandRenee
@GeneandRenee Жыл бұрын
Oh every road is a “new” road for us! If Ginny were small like a chihuahua we would fly too. At close to 7 pounds, and since she’s never been forced into a carrier under a airline seat, there is no way she would ride peacefully. And at her age (over 15) we’re kind of scared to drug her what would be needed for a long flight. Sooooo, we drive days and days to get to our destinations. You’re making the wiser decision. Thank you Sandi for joining us on the journey! Hope you’re having a great week! 🙂

@@GeneandRenee I get that! Every road def is different - just be safe out there. I’ve driven to San carols in my younger years and it was scary even then. Ok so our chi is also almost seven lbs, (not overweight, just a bigger Chihuahua) and is on heart meds. Idk. Idk if I should just not go at all bc I can’t leave him and I’m afraid to take him. The good thing is, he rides in an airline carrier in the car with me to work every day but that’s just a 20 min drive. I’m sorry I’m just so nervous on what’s best for us. Of course I plan to check with his vet prior but it is a tough decision and i def see why you chose to drive. You have way more control that way. I love that you two found a way to make your dreams happen and live your best lives, love it! Thanks for all the great info ❤️
@GeneandRenee
@GeneandRenee Жыл бұрын
Thank you Sandi! If your little friend is used to the carrier maybe try taking him on longer drives to get him used to being in the carrier longer. Maybe increasing 10 minutes each time. This may help prepare him for a flight? Best to you both! 🙂

@@GeneandRenee that’s a great idea! So unlike Ginny, he loves the car but only if he’s in the drivers arms! Horribly dangerous obviously so we’ve had to get the crate or he’ll keep trying to get to the drivers seat 🤦🏻‍♀️ his previous owners must have rode with him like this so he could watch out the front window. Anyway, thank you for posting your adventures and thank you for your suggestions. You three are helping me gain the confidence I need to follow my heart to Mexico ❤️
