Driving from Los Angeles to Sacramento | Complete Trip

The major difference is that for a majority of the distance Highway 99 is 3 lanes each way while I-5 is only 2. On 5 this can result in all the trucks traveling in the right lane with the cars in a miles-long line trying to pass the trucks, frequently being held up while one truck going 63 mph takes miles to pass one or more trucks going 62 mph. This doesn't account for the aggressive drivel who speeds along in the right lane only to try to push into the lane of cars at the next truck.

Reminds me of the time I drove a bus from Sacramento to Los Angeles, it was my regular run. As we were leaving one morning I guy got on and said he need to go to Hollywood. I told him you're on the right bus we're going to Los Angeles, and took off, he started screaming NO I'm going to Hollywood, before I could explain to him, that Hollywood was just an area in Los Angeles. He jumped off the bus when I was doing 10 miles an hour, rolled around on the concrete. I stopped to see if he was all right and he just gave me the finger. I didn't think any more about it, until the next day. I was on my regular run from Sacramento to LA again, when I see this guy with a bandage head hitchhiking, holding up a sign that says Hollywood or bust. I'll say this he must have busted his head when he fell. And I always wondered if he got a ride with anybody did they tell him they are going to Los Angeles. If so he might have jumped out. This happened in April 1976 but I remember it like yesterday

L.A does have the most land area than any other city in the US. (New York has less land because it is divided into 5 separate boroughs)

Just a preference.😊 Taking I-5 all the way. There wasn’t that much of a difference timewise anyway.

@@WanderingJnD oh okey because for me highway 5 is okey but compared to highway 99 its have more rest area to sleep used the bathroom 🚻 and to Eat some food😊

@@WanderingJnD it's good when you travel interstate 5 it's hot and sunny because I go to Sacramento yesterday both highway 99 and highway 5 in Central valley is covered by fog 😄

I honestly prefer I-5 over 99 because 5 is much faster and more peaceful especially at night. Don't get me wrong I like 99 if I'm coming from or going to Vegas but going to or from L.A then I prefer I-5
