That is so impressive that you engineered all this to work together. Engine swapping is so much more complicated than it used to be
@kkellerk232 жыл бұрын
It's easier to swap these days. You get blank pcms and write whatever you want in them, along with a trans tune. You just have to make sure you have a setup that's compatible with each other.
@timbrwolf11212 жыл бұрын
Yeah once you understand the basics of this it opens your eyes. Anything is possible these days and its not even a matter of just throwing money at research and development. Within this decade, things will be mostly plug and play for the average joe with some basic shop tools.
@timbrwolf11212 жыл бұрын
@Rift33SRT Talk to Russell Drake at sound german automotive. The 8 speed swap is very possible. Needs more custom work on the pre late2013 models but it is doable and has been done.
@jordanspears80432 жыл бұрын
I think its harder now a days because of all the electrical components. With carb or even early EFI the wiring was minimal compared to the harness’ and components now.

Its because things like that ypu should really do yourself, shops dont wanna be responsible and they dont wanna here complaints. When its Custom things like that no one else can see the vison you have in your head. Most crazy builds are usually done by the person you wanted done and they team the put together.

My dad had a Dakota Sport when they first came out in that body style, I remember always wanting a single cab 5.9 R/T with the Cervini Sniper Bodykit. Yours definitely is the nicest Dakota on YT maybe even in the states, especially it being A Hellkota. Keep up the good work & shout out from Dallas

@riccochet7042 жыл бұрын
Tires will get flat spots like that from sitting. If you plan on letting it sit for any amount of time consider putting the truck on jack stands. Don't have to take the wheels off, or even get them completely off the ground. Just lifted enough to remove some pressure off the tires. Or air the tires up to max PSI before storing it.

First video I saw in your channel. My grandpa had Dakota red color. He loved his truck he barely drove it only to go to check his crops in Mexico. Builds like this what I enjoy watching. Cheers from California

I remember my Bright Silver Metallic 2001 5.9 R/T. Extended cab. Very loosey goosey until the tires warmed up 🤣. Kept it completely stock except for a Flowmaster 40 series catback. I never thought I’d love again. Then you made a Hellkota. SOB.

Love the style of the 5.9 R/T minor modifications it’s a fun truck.The dash fitment looks perfect. Bought a wreck and swapped? Cheaper and less labor intensive. Does it have speed sensors for launch and stability control? Sick ride, I’ll be watching. Many are purchasing homes zoned or with the shops to cut overhang and live simple. Quick question… On the speedometer, what would it take to get it working again?
@hunterdan20022 жыл бұрын
Abs sensors. Original hubs didn't have abs sensors in them to read the wheel speed.

If he got stock Dakota wheel bearings with the ABS, he could run them for the front. The rear is where is gets a little complicated because the rear doesn't have 2 speed sensors only 1.

Need to do a couple good smokey burnouts and then rotate the tires and repeat on the front tires..... Problem solved. I actually had a tire shop tell me to do that to quiet down some really loud and susceptible to vibration because of the aggressive off road tread pattern and this was a dodge 2500 Cummins work truck that sat parked with a 20' trailer quite often and that extra 10000 lbs tended to flat spot the rear tires due to the additional weight and the high heat of the summer making the rubber soft during the day then in the cooler mornings they would be harder and vibrate like hell going down the highway at 6am not exactly a comfortable 3 hours of driving to a job but the solution I was given by the tire shop manager was to power brake it and smoke those tires until I didn't feel that vibration anymore lol
