Trust me, I love WRC and I grow up owning a WRX that was heavily modified and I have enormous respect for the genre and its drivers... we had a lot of restrictions with what we could do with this car, we basically weren't allowed to go fast or turn on the anti lag system or put it in race mode. To make it admissible to a rally on a budget you might get away with just spending about $10k (most of it in safety equipment). But then again, you would have no chance to even make qualifying.
@FinlayDaG33k
@FinlayDaG33k Жыл бұрын
@@yoshyoka Really depends on the cup, class etc. etc. Some friends and I partake in a few rally cups every year and we do get podium or near-podium quite often. Total investment made on our car? Around 8K including purchase of the thing. Rally isn't just WRC, there are also plenty of amateur cups specifically made for "rallying on a budget".

+Declan White during an official rally cars are inspected and giving a temporary Mot and can only circulate from stage to stage at the legal speed limit. After the rally is complete the cars have there temp permits removed . If your thinking of registering a full spec rally car at local DMV good luck , these cars are no way road legal . I know this from personal experience.
@brockbain8656
@brockbain8656 7 жыл бұрын
No you do not jean... Here in Australia we can acquire rally registration. this is extremely cheap but is also rather limiting. you can drive the vehicle on the road within a radius of the registered address of the vehicle, between certain times, if you are to go outside of said radius or outside of said times, you must contact either RMS to check and obtain allowance to do so, requiring a reason being either a car show of which you are to participate in, relocation of the car from one place to another or competing/transporting in a rally. Also these cars are road legal under rally registration, they are exempt from all road rules so long as they are given a certification by an approved engineer after inspection.
@geluix69
@geluix69 7 жыл бұрын
+Declan White nope, there only legal between stages and for a short period. Like I said if you don't believe me go to your local DMV with a full spec rally race car and they'll just laugh and say ..... Eh No . At least in North America anyway.

@@rolfen In order to prevent stalls in the corners. When pulling the handbrake, it is always best to use the clutch to prevent stalls. But, this and all other WRC cars (WRC, WRC-2, WRC-3, J-WRC) either use paddles or a sequential stick shifter. Also, just like a normal manual car, the car will stall if the revs bottom out completely. If you hold the clutch when you are at idle, it won’t stall, like a normal H-Pattern car.

@@stefan_4508 It's sequential manual transmission. Clutch has to be used when you start moving or lock the wheels when braking. The paddle shifter in rally cars control fully mechanic gear lever so it's kinda like assisted manual. On the other hand ferrari for example uses dct automatic transmission. In automatic cars the clutch is fully automated so you can't control it. Paddle shifter/gear lever in dct just send signals to the computer to change gears so it's like a semi-automatic.

I have a big question I can not get answers for anywhere but this car is based of the 1.2 model coupe road hyundai public can buy but my question I presume the 1.6 T GDI engine bolts streight into it without any mods as they only ever made it 1.2 in the basic model of this

You did not understand. They took the normal car and modified it. The modifications cost $750 000. They put all very expensive racing modifications in this car.

Would have much preferred to see an average man on the street trying to drive the car on an airfield with everything turned on. driving on roads with the car in non competition mode with the active diff turned off, the engine on its most fuel efficient map so BHP down considerably , anti lag turned off, is frankly lame and a little pointless . Its a pure bred rally beast and should be used as such
@ItsLost

the host said in some other comments they wouldn't turn on any of that stuff not even anti lag

So which Hyundi do i have to buy to get this mad awd? Srsly this is a drag queen just like the Polo WRC. Neither the chassis, gearbox or the drivetrain can be brought at a dealer. This is a custom car that impersonates something you see on the road.

I mean..... it is a racing car. It competes in the highest tier of rally racing..... so, I guess in order to get it to somewhat rally spec, it's gonna take a lot of engeneering and denero.

That used to be different. Subaru WRX STI, all the 80's group B cars and literally erverything before that was available for customers. Ford Capri, Opel Ascona, Fiat 124 they were the grocery getters of their time. Today there is just too much trickery and "fake" going on. The TCR Class is another example.
