Actually one of the safest routes through the Alps, since all the tunnels were renewed following a deadly tragedy years ago. But from this year and for a few years onwards, all those new tunnels are undergoing maintenance and will be reduced to half the usual capacity. That’ll suck, but it can’t be helped.

Hi, indeed, it will take 2-3 years until we will have here a motorway that can accommodate the high traffic. Karavank will also open and then the transit times to Slovenia will be optimized, with less traffic jams even during peak times.

its better to go thru local.roads simetimes,speed after all are same as in their highways which are garbage and they always repair something!!they are 3 level under german autobahn in everything

Hi, I also enjoy a lot driving on local roads, drove on over 50% of the austrian B roads. This time I was in a hurry as I drove from Croatia to Germany that day. A lot of works on A10, this summer will be really bad with the traffic.

hate travell thru austria and Slovenia,they charge every meter of their slow highways

For Austria and Slovenia you have to buy a vignette which gives you the possibility to drive on all motorways except some long alpine tunnels. I find the motorways in Italy or France much more expensive and the speed limit is the same as in Austria or Slovenia.
