These videos remind me why I like driving in SoCal... even though there's a lot of cars here, people generally have a greater respect for road rules and when someone is driving like a dick, they get a long dose of horn and rage so that it doesn't continue. I feel like the drivers in these vids just do what they want because others let them and it becomes chaotic.

Orssidia Yes culture definitely plays a part, but I feel there is more to the story. It's probably a variety of factors resulting in a system where road rules are disregarded. No easy solution either.

Yeah it's certainly bad in China. I believe it's because you literally won't get anywhere if you follow the rules. The clip around 3:30 is a good example. Basically nobody has any faith in the road rules.

***** In fact, my friend actually shared his experience for buying a fake license in China and pretend good hearted man in Canada to get the Grade Five directly. I was shaking when he talked as an excited achievement counting that I am a road cyclist and a driver.

Qiuyuan Chen Man you should tell your friend that road tests are there for a reason. If he goes on the road without even knowing basic rules, he's a danger to himself and others.

go555ace I done what I could by report him directly to ICBC but my evidence was not enough to support. However, his license got suspended for 5 years after a dangerous maneuver over the Hwy 7 near Mission on a cyclist who suppose to pass him but got blocked and his mirror fall of the car by the bicycle handlebar. ICBC had yet give me any detail regarding my report but that 5 year suspension surely give him a lesson to learn at least for now.

How does the licencing system work in China?

You go with a driving instructor, he uses a point chart, if you reach 2000 points on a 10 minute drive, you pass and get your license. I think each pedestrian you hit is like 100 points. You also get bonus points if you hit more than one in each crosswalk.

Seems Chinese drive like they eat at the buffets... cutting everyone off in line. They have no concept of a line/lane. Also, why don't Chinese police enforce their traffic regulations? I'm sure if they hire more traffic officers, the tickets alone will be more than enough to pay for their salaries not to mention making the roads safer.

This reminds me of the crash compilation videos people make except these didn't end in accidents. Very chaotic roads, and it seems as if laws didn't exist. Its funny how the taxi driver didn't fool around and run up the meter. I guess a large truck and a train horn would suffice in these driving conditions.

Cars are in fact better in the last ten years, but else than that it is quite difficult. There isn't an united rules for all road users in fact.

And when the trucks don't give a shit, the driver of the orange Chevy tries to use the trucks as cover for driving like an asshole. (also, is that the same Chevy that the Nissan truck honked at as it ran the red light?) Also, i think having a guy in the middle of an intersection to direct traffic would fail as someone would eventually run him over and kill him.

1:07 wtf, the truck being overtaken kept coming left. Why? 5:08 yes, because overtaking on the shoulder never goes wrong, like ever... Best dash cam high speed crash ever, highway fail in China About the truck madness. You should be happy you weren't staying northwest of Beijing/Peking. Shitloads of trucks delivering coal and such for the coal plants coming from Inner-Mongolia. I've seen videos that will make you shit your pants :P Just wondering: I hear no English being spoken, so I assume you are Chinese yourself? Not hating or anything, just noticing :)

lol how the heck is there not an accident in the video. So much near misses! That aside though it seems like it's anything goes in China as long as you don't actually collide. How and why do ppl drive like this? Is rules not being enforced? Is it the population density? Is it a cultural thing? I feel Like it's almost dangerous to try to follow rules there, just because you would be the one car who does the unexpected thing.
