Another great video, thanks. The times I've walked down and struggled (sometimes late at night staggered) up St Julian's avenue. I knew the Royal had gone, but sad to see that monstrosity on the corner. Glad you went up Cow Lane, a bit of Guernsey history there. Next time you do a town video, can you drive up Cornet St? I'd love to see where The Helmsman used to be. My misspent youth :(

Oh god, the Helmsman! I always remember it as the biker's bar. ( I think they called themselves The Islanders) . I noticed the Welly has gone too. But what the name of the bar on 11.44?

Yes it can be difficult to find a car parking space in the Town, but there are a number of places to go, ie La Salerie, even if it means a short walk back. I have my parking clock card that I got from the Police Station a few years ago, then heard they were intending to instal parking fee machines! I think the local town workers put a stop to that, haha. thanks.

@@livinginguernsey After Town Church you would do a "U-y" and go up to the market square. If there wasn't any parking there, then it's back down Fountain street and start again. You could sometimes spend more time looking for a parking place than shopping! ( Of course back then, you didn't need to go to North Beach car park, as it was just that, a beach. Only used for bait digging and occasional stock car racing).

So, all of the piers in St Peter Port are choked with cars. Potentially great public spaces given over to car parking. Nice to see some of the negative aspects of Guernsey.
