Taxation without representation. So if you own a car in the city where you are already paying taxes in , you will be charged to visit other parts of the city for not opting into using the city’s services. Sounds like a monopoly to me. This is some unprecedented times. Especially with rent and the cost of living already at an all time high. Mta needs to be dismantled and split evenly between the 5 boroughs, not just one agency taking care of each borough. They are incentivized to only carter to the richest borough and penalize the other boroughs.

Congestion got worse because NYC blockaded half the traffic lanes. They painted some green as Bike Lanes and painted some red as Bus Lanes. But traffic was still moving decently so to jam everyone up, NYC politicians installed bike racks in the middle of lanes and placed huge boulders and huge concrete potted trees in the middle of the street. But when THAT didn’t create a permanent traffic jam (because Covid started and everyone began working from home), the politicians just said “Screw it, we’ll just PRETEND congestion is still high and pretend we didn’t cause it by shutting down half the automobile lanes. Announce the Congestion Tax! Then we’ll funnel the money into MTA’s front door and out MTA’s back door. Nobody will notice we’re money laundering because they’re obsessed with P Diddy.”

I live in PA and out here they charge us $300 to sign up for a medical license for marijuana and that’s just to get the card for permission to buy it from the dispensary or else you can’t buy it but every state surrounding my state, you can just buy it if you’re of age recreationally. Not only that it cost my family $100 round-trip and just tolls to go to Philadelphia and back about 75 mile round-trip

I don't see the logic here. How is this cutting down on traffic etc? I noticed that the zone happens to be in the financial district and other business situated areas. Which means, people travel in those areas for work and needs. It's not like these areas are congested for leisurely reasons. So how is it gonna cut down on anything? If anything, it's gonna start effecting businesses. And while there are some residential areas effected, it's gonna put stress on families. I just don't see how this isn't a pathetic pyramid scheme being enforced by the government.

What do you say to those who reside in NYC - in the congestion pricing zone, works in NJ and has never been able to own a car because of the excessive traffic that are caused by out of towners. New Yorkers can’t even take public buses bc even the bus lanes are blocked. New Yorkers can’t sleep bc of the excessive honking noises at all hrs of the night.
