I knew she would do this. That was the goal from the start. Back in June 2024 Kathy Hocul wanted it to be $15 but she put a pause on it due to all the backlash. Now a month ago she announced that they are going to bring it back but a lowered fee of $9 but she intended from the start to increase it over the next couple of years till it's eventually $15 like she originally wanted. Riddle me this: If you avoided a toll going into Manhattan by taking the Brooklyn Bridge to FDR or Queensbridge to 62nd Street exit... How do you get OUT of Manhattan without paying a toll? All of Queens will have to drive south on FDR to Brooklyn Bridge to then take the BQE back up? Its not a toll for the Central Business District. It's a toll for ALL of Manhattan now. You're forcing people who want to avoid paying tolls to funnel down to the Brooklyn Bridge. That's the only free way out of the city now for Queens residents.
