It's crazy how at first he was shy and didn't speak much, but as time went by he started to loosen up, speak more English and introduce himself. The magic of finding a good person on dayz. This makes such a difference for us who don't have English as our main language.

As a very old gamer with many thousands of hours in lots of games Smoke is one of the most satisfying gamers to watch. At any age it still needs to be fun, and he maintains playfulness and sport while also showing enough maturity to put more soul into the game than most. Makes for the best quality of immersion imo. Sometimes impish and sometimes caring, yet always playful. For instance, how many guys in this situation stop to say "sometimes you just bump into someone and they're having a rough go at it"?

14:35 - liftoff oversteer is especially common in rear engined cars like the Toyota MR2, what you just experienced was either lift off oversteer or snap oversteer, but I think it was liftoff because you were heading straight, not in a corner where snap usually takes place.

Driving thru Zelen the spot where you wrecked is the same spot that lags for me any time I go thru there as it attempts to render while driving it desyncs right by the clinic every single time ya drive thru there. Best bet is to gear down into 1st or 2nd and go slow until you get up the hill.

Idk if you’ll even read this smoke but just something to know, when you changed gears and the car crashed, that is a thing. What happened is you were already getting high RPMs in 3rd gear and you down shifted to 2nd. Without “rev matching” your RPMs shot up another couple thousand after the downshift and all that power went into your back wheels causing you to spin out

I would advise anyone who is not comfortable with manual shifting or new to driving in game to just drive in 2nd gear and just keep your speed just out of the red. For the car they are using anyway. There is a car with with 5-6 gears vs just 4. That one will hit red basically instantly until 4th gear and will need you to be comfortable shifting. Forget which car it is though. Humvee is actually the easiest to drive. No radiator in one so when you redline it just turns the engine off and has only has 3 gears. You just start engine again when that happens. I would advise never going fast enough to demand being in the highest gear. You will have 0 time to adjust if something unexpected happens, though it is fun. End of the day though, cars are not...reliable in DayZ. That spinout Smoke did was just one of the quirks. Most community servers add mods that make them sturdier or even invincible from impacts. You are not invincible though and even very minor impacts while driving will uncon you and I mean MINOR like 5mph and 2 feet away from a tree will uncon you. Think even servers with the tweaks will still let gunfire fuck the car up and obviously you.
