That's incredible! I didn't know any survived. This is the first video of one running I ever saw. I heard they were slow, yes I can see that. They are smaller than I thought they would be. Hardly any of the body of the chassis sticks up above the tracks. Maybe 20 cm in height. All sloping armor. Way ahead of its time. I love that small machine gun on the back of the turret. That's the only one I ever saw. that's brilliant. I have often wondered why fighter planes didn't have them. A fighter plane can only turn so fast. It was part of the strategy back then. If those planes would have had a machine gun set at the perfect angle backwards the pursuing plane would have been locked in position doing it's maximum turn at the same time. It would have changed aerial combat strategy. But I digress. The KV-1 would have been a tough match for any tank its size. Maybe even now.

IS THAT THE REAL 541 ?!
@ErukanuSenpai3 ай бұрын
For those wondering The KV-1 tank with the number 541 is notable for its role in the defense of Leningrad during World War II. This particular tank was commanded by Lieutenant Zinoviy Kolobanov, who led a successful ambush against German forces near Krasnogvardeysk (now Gatchina) on August 14, 1941. Kolobanov's tank, along with a few others, managed to destroy a significant number of German tanks despite being heavily outnumbered. In one famous engagement, Kolobanov's tank alone reportedly knocked out 22 German tanks, effectively halting their advance.
@JimmysHobbyCorner3 ай бұрын
When I asked they said this tank had a key role in defending Leningrad and I was told that he stopped 29 Pz3. First shoot took out the leader tank and the second shoot took the last out and then they picked out all between. If that’s the truth is up to each and everyone to decide on there own.
@GLOOMY_BY2 ай бұрын
@@ErukanuSenpai You're confusing something... The tank in which Kolobanov performed his feat had the number 864. And it did not have the inscription "Soviet Polar Explorer" - tanks from this group (with such numbers) were transferred to Leningrad later, in 1942, and consisted of KV-1C tanks.
