One thing i appreciate with these videos is how you ask questions, dig deeper, and research anything that interests you. Most people just look at the thing and go home. You look at the thing and then ask why it was made, how it was made, the significance, etc... It makes the video not only a beautiful visual but also informative and educational!

That’s sweet of you to say! Thank you! I just do it bc it's what makes all the travel logistics even worth it. Otherwise, why bother? I mean I'd say the majority of people don’t get why some of us love traveling so much and that's bc they mostly stick to a brochure version of a trip, which is "good enough," but never the real adventure they might be hoping for. Anyway, blah blah blah, thank you again!

@@damondominique It's one of the reasons your travel vlogs are basically the only ones I watch. Your truly going on an adventure and learning and detouring as you go and not just following a list of the most touristy areas. And we get to learn stuff too. All the love

I love the way you make yourself laugh which causes me to laugh. Your experience with the RV reminds me of another KZbinr, Ethan Lashby - ETHAN TRAVELS. Every week it seems to be an episode of the “Perils of Pauline”. Ethan gets himself into all these predicaments and he manages to make it through at the end of the vlog. It must be a lot of hassle setting up an exterior shot of you moving the RV around. Also I appreciated the contemplative mood you fell into when you talked about regret. Hon, no regrets just memories. I’m glad you addressed the history of Mt. Rushmore and the Lakota Indians. The comedian Jim Gaffigan makes a reference to the sacred mountain and the present to the Lakota people of creating Mt. Rushmore. The sarcasm is well placed. I hope all your plans in Paris come to fruition. Stay well.👍🙏😜😎

@damondominique4 күн бұрын
I always write out the "beats" I want to hit - like where we're going generally...but there's always a moment when you have to turn the camera off and have a real moment (which is ironic bc turning the camera off is necessary for the story on camera to evolve). When all else fails, I turn the camera on when I have something to say, and if that clip doesn't fit in the general story, the backup is to use it as a flashback...and the backup in case that doesn't fit is to throw it in the deleted scenes...and if it just complete nonsense and doesn't advance the story at all/doesn't fit, it's just trashed and even though I spent time filming it, I'm fine with deleting it because it's "part of the process."

I was interested in the history behind Rushmore's Montain. What happened in these lands is absolutely contemporary to the situation in Gaza today, and how a community should never be forced to run away from their mother lands... From this reflection it is clear how humanity does not know how to learn and avoid the horrors of the past and prefer to continue annihilating and ruling through dictatorships and tyrannies. PS: Thanks for the video 😊

10:00 that’s interesting! Here I thought all Americans learn about natives early on in elementary school. In PA we learned all about the natives who lived where we currently live and even had a few field trips to learn more about how they used to live. It was all talked about as if they didn’t exist anymore but we knew early on they were here before us. Might have to do with PA being connected to US’ early history as compared to western states? Or could be that it’s hard to ignore them since we took quite a few words/names from them to use for naming towns and rivers? 10:28 from what I learned about the French in Quebec they were more lenient towards interacting with natives compared to the English. The English viewed natives as not even worthy of being their neighbors where the French took more of a we can sleep with them and still think we’re better than them approach. The French also relied on the natives for help navigating and establishing their fur trade. The English on the other hand didn’t rely on natives for much especially once slaves entered the americas. The Spanish from what I learned of them in Central America at first were very English in their approach until they learned they could use them for labor. Also the gov use to practice offering education, housing and jobs outside of reservations to lure natives into “assimilating” so they could argue they’re not really native anymore, they’re American.
