Thanks for your awesome tours and your knowledge of the areas you drive. I’m out of NY some 40 years and never returned and never will. But your tours bring back memories. I picked up some nice antiques in Nyack in the 70’s when it was just a quiet uncrowned lovely tiny enclave. I do miss upstate NY but I’m not returning. So thanks for the tours. And yes I agree the name should be Tappen Zee.

I remember you did a livestream in 2020, and it took you a long time to walk across the blue pedestrian path on the bridge. It's nice to see the great views over the bridge and hear about its history. 😎 Thank you for sharing this drive, AK! 🤗

My grandfather and I crossed the original Tappan Zee Bridge during the mid-1960's when we went deep sea fishing in New Jersey.

I took my kids to the Palisades mall many years ago from Parsippany NJ, and to my surprise I went over the Tappan Zee bridge by mistake !!

Such a marked improvement over the old bridge, which was only a single span with a zipper barrier and no bus lanes or any space for breakdowns.

Queens is much bigger than the Brooklyn, but Brooklyn is much more convenient overall when living in Brooklyn compared to Queens. A lot of place in Queens, without a car, you can’t take the bus or walk to get there, but in the Brooklyn, most areas are accessible either by Subway or Bus. For example, even you live in East New York like the Spring Creek, Canarsie, you can still get there by bus, but in Queens, many places are not connected by the Bus line. Even has buses going there, you need to make a few transfer.

I think they should return the name to Tappan Zee because everyone I know calls it that, anyway; what is with this Curomo Bridge, huh? Thanks for explaining why a bridge was midway between George Washington and the Tappan Zee. Money is always an issue. I commuted to New Jersey from Westchester County to go to work. Believe me, we needed a bridge mid way. The George Washington is always flooded with morning commuters. Many moons ago, the bridge was free going to NJ and - $5 going NY!

Looks dominating of the Tappan Zee Bridge Action Kid🤩😍! I gotta say, it's kinda different to the Gothals Bridge at Staten Island and New Jersey, but it's extraordinary with the Tappan Zee Bridge!😏😄 Thanks for sharing that glorious bridge AK!😌🤗

Hi, did you move back to the area from Florida? I always enjoy your videos, my curiosity on certain places were satisfied from some of your videos (thank you!) I have traveled over the Tappan Zee Bridge a few times several years ago, my last was when they started construction on the new one. That bridge and the Goethals (10 minutes from me) share a similar if not same design.

Yes, these cable-stayed bridges have been more common throughout the world. It's a very efficient design!

Is the entire state of NY covered with those shrubby roadside trees?
@City-Hiker3 ай бұрын
Most highways are filled with trees. Trees on the roadside is not just for air environmental, but also for climate protection. Trees may prevent mudslides and purify air or water.
