I. Geographical location and route overview
National Highway 317 starts from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province in the east, passes through Aba Prefecture, Ganzi Prefecture and other areas in the west, and ends in Nagqu, Tibet Autonomous Region. The section from Ganzi County to Luhuo County is a key section on this national highway, with a total length of about 95 kilometers (there may be slight differences according to some information, but the approximate range is similar).
This section of the road rises and falls with the terrain, circling between peaks and ravines, showing magnificent natural scenery.
II. Road conditions
This section is a Class IV highway with an asphalt road surface, but it should be noted that the route is steep, sharp, narrow, and there are many sections such as roadbed settlement and gaps. Be especially careful when driving, pay attention to driving safety and warning prohibition signs.
Despite the challenges of road conditions, the overall road conditions from Ganzi County to Luhuo County are relatively good, and the scenery along the way is even more beautiful, providing an excellent travel experience for self-driving tourists.
3. Landscape along the way
Soon after leaving Ganzi County, you can enjoy the magnificent grassland scenery. Continuing forward, you will pass through several viewing platforms, such as the grassland viewing platform and the Kasa Lake viewing platform, which are great places to take landscape photos and enjoy the natural beauty.
Kasa Lake is the largest water bird habitat in Northwest Sichuan Road and a famous holy lake in the area. The lake is blue, and it contrasts with the surrounding snow-capped mountains and grasslands, forming a beautiful picture.
In addition to the natural landscape, this section of the road also passes through some buildings and villages with Tibetan characteristics, where tourists can feel the strong Tibetan cultural atmosphere.
