Interesting seeing the woods on the right up to 3:25. Now there's Winco, Costco, and probably not a single tree left. Reached Silver Lake so quickly that I wasn't sure something was skipped. Now there is so much stuff and so many lights in that drive that it seems to take twice as long. 6:15 Murphy's Corner as a 4-way stop with nothing around it. If I didn't know any better, I'd think we were in Carnation. 50mph speed limit? Not anymore. 9:06 Entering the beginnings of Mill Creek, which started around 1982. Didn't realize the McDonalds and Shari's had already been built. Is there anywhere on this stretch where you could have residential mailboxes on the shoulder today? 14:30 Thrasher's Corner? I lived there in 1989 and I couldn't recognize it. Major growth just in the 8 years since Mill Creek started getting built. And now, of course, even more.

I remember at Murphy's corner. It was only a T in the road. Across from murphy's was another service station. No four way stop, and only gravel roads. I went to Silver Lake Elementary school. And I remember when it first got black topped.

We moved to Mill Creek in 1981, McDonald's, Shari's, Petesa Pete, Albertsons, Pay and Save and Ernst were already there.

I remember when all these roads were nothing but gravel. There was no freeway. 21:38 Used to be a big stump at this stop light in Bothell. Then, if you made a right into Kenmore, the road was red brick. Straight ahead at that same spot , used to be a giant old red second hand store. Down long river. Safeway was at your right. If I only had a camera back then when I was a kid. Shockingly different. A Veteran. Age 67.

I love it. Starts off in my old childhood stomping grounds. My mom worked at the gas station in the start of video.

I must be in an odd mood today, watching this brought back so many memories and got me misty-eyed. Thank you for this!

I can't get over the 4 way stop at 132nd. It's such a huge and busy interchange now. I think I would have liked it better here back then with more trees and less people...

I remember when Murphy's Corner was a 2-way stop. The Bothell-Everett Hwy. didn't have to stop.

I used to race down 132nd to the end before it connected with SR 9. We would sometimes party at the Buffalo Farm on weekends.

Again, fantastic uploads! I’ve shared edits on my IG, crediting and pointing a link to here. Hopefully has resulted in good added traffic (🥁pun intended). Regards!

I moved to this area just a few years after this and so I can recall when most of the missing buildings were built, but I was somewhat shocked to see Thrasher's Corner without a Safeway and 180th with nothing on the east side of the road.

Amazing! Canyon Park was just a field! 19th Ave is lined with trees! @highwayvideos do you have any clips of west/east 128th/132nd st from Paine Field to Mill Creek/Snohomish? Curious to see what that area looked like around Buffalo Farm

Drugs and gangs from Tacoma taking over the "Jungle" or lil Chicago as they used to call it back in the day. The dump of an apartment complex, located behind the Everett Mall. They had a huge influence on Everett becoming the turd it is now. I grew up visiting the Jungle from 89-2003, I lived most my life in north Everett. My mom had friends that lived there, so we had to visit, and we ended up moving there in 2000. I got away from Everett in 2003 and have never moved back, you could not pay me to live there. I can't believe they put apartment complexes on the old dump in north Everett, east of I-5. That city gives me bad memories even driving through it on I-5!

I would love to see footage of old downtown Bothell up and down the Main Street corridor from those days. It's surreal spotting certain things that are still there, but then seeing so much that isn't any more. Right around 22:20, I THINK I see where Music & Arts is now, down that street. It's so different.

What a beautiful place silver lake once was, I grew up around that lake and I’ve watched the area slowly deteriorate. Not one homeless person in sight and the roads look to be in much better shape. Sad to see what was once a beautiful place become ruined by big development, poor city leadership and the homeless influx.
