Driving on Xintang Hanging Wall Highway - one of the eight major winding mountain Road in China
Xintang Hanging Wall Highway, located in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province, Enshi City, Xintang Township Shuangmu Highway (Shuanghe Town to Muliyuan Village), about 4.4 kilometers long, like a jade belt hanging on the cliff with an altitude difference of more than 800 meters, looking up into the clouds, as if falling from the sky. In the 80s of the last century, the local villagers excavated on the cliff after ten years of hard work. In recent years, the government has invested nearly 10 million yuan to harden the road surface and strengthen the guardrails to make the moat more navigable. In spring and summer, the mountains are shrouded in clouds and mist, like a fairyland, and in autumn and winter, the earth is covered with snow and is unusually steep. Walking on it, the visitors all praised the perseverance of the people of Xintang and the dangerous and beautiful scenery of Tujia Mountain Township.
In 1986, under the leadership of the local government, the sons and daughters of Tumiao, who were unwilling to bow to fate, went into battle and launched a "challenge" to Tugenpo. They put ropes around their waists, picked up hammers on the cliffs, chiseled out chambers with steel drills, and filled them with explosives to blow up the "stubborn stones" little by little. In a year, you can only advance four or five hundred meters, and in the most difficult time, you can only repair one or two hundred meters a year.
This repair is 10 years. In the past 10 years, 8 warriors have been buried on this "heavenly road".
In recent years, the local government has invested more than 10 million yuan to harden and widen the road and strengthen the guardrail. Today, this winding mountain road with a length of 4.4 Highway is like a jade belt, hanging on the cliff, looking up into the clouds, as if falling from the sky.
In April 2015, Xinhua News Agency "posted" a set of photos of "Tianlu", which detonated the Internet, and the deep mountain road became famous. Travelers, cyclists and photographers flocked to the city, and the media rated it as one of the eight most peculiar mountain roads in China.
