Thanks for this perfect review. You nailed it! I found the same pros and cons with this vehicle. I don't know why where isn't one car manufacturer out there who can simply pick all the good stuff and ideas from different manufacturers and bring it down to one single vehicle. Looks of an Explorer, interior of an Audi, engine of a BMW and comfy as a Cadillac

I disagree with some of the reviewer's comments. I test drove the Explorer, Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia and Dodge Durango. I found the Explorer to be the most responsive and nimble. I found the seats to be the most comfortable..not sure why you'd expect a bollstered seat in an SUV. Interior finish was on par with the others and MY Touch was easy to use. I ordered a Limited with the 301A Package. There was little price difference between the brands so complaining about it is misleading.

I have to say that I really enjoy all your videos! You're just enjoyable to listen and you really get into the essence of the car from the way a real buyer would:) Great job and keep 'em coming!

I didnt like this review becuase 90% of the video the shows him driving the car. No offense but Im not interested in staring at you for 10 minutes. SHOW THE DAMNCAR! Walk around, get different angles, show the features and details so we can see it. If I wanted to hear just talk, I would listen to the radio!

OK, I must correct something for this guy...although his "review" was OK...What he fails to mention when it comes to the "not so good" controls in the tower and mistakenly hitting this or that is that Ford actually has a feature in this MyTouch feature called VOICE COMMAND. It is in our 2015 F150 and our 2014 Explorer Limited. Simply touch the voice command and say "climate". Adjust fan, temperature etc by voice command. You do not even have to touch the screen or buttons at all. You can activate and use the navigation, phone, radio and several other features. Before you are "turned off" with this portion of the review...Try some of these features, they're pretty SWEET!! Added bonus...keeping your hands on the wheel!

Yep. I own a 2011 Explorer, that's why. It's such an amazing car. So much power for a smaller displacement engine.

Fair review. I also noticed that front seats are narrow which is deal breaker for me. In the end you said that explorer will not be your choice in this price point, so if not explorer then what else?

Hi Kevin. Thank you so much for taking your time to post this awesome review. I haven't seen your other videos in case you have already stated but if the 2013 Ford Explorer is not what you recommend, then what is? The most important thing to me is 3rd row seating and adaptive cruise control.

Good catch! The 3.7 is in enough of Ford's lineup at this point I didn't notice that they were still putting the 3.5 in the explorer.

I found the same issue with front seating. Just can't get comfortable...have had the vehicle for two weeks now and despite multiple attempts to get my seating configuration just right I have been unable to do so. And finding a small tear in the front seat leather from exiting the vehicle. It seems to pinch the leather against the plastic seat frame. A little noisy on rough roads but it is an SUV....quiet on good roads...front suspension feels any bump in the road pretty hard...likely due to forward CG due to engine weight. My opinions of course. Enjoying my Sync tech but the soft touch issue is difficult to work with sometimes. I have gone to mastering voice control during all driving scenarios and that works better than expected. Still happy with vehicle...wish I had seen your video first...might have been able to negotiate a better deal.

Actually, you were wrong in some parts. You made a mistake, it has a 3.5L V6. Only the police interceptor version has a 3.7.

I agree with you Ken. The same thing could be said of other products like cell phones for instance. You can thank our disjointed patent office for this.

The BMW X5 has been rated as the one of worst vehicles for depreciation next to the American cars such as the explorer. That being said, there is no real comparison to the X5 other than price. Having owned both I would say that the Explorer was a more bang for your buck car. If you plan on keeping a car for a few years (3-5) its not a bad choice. If you want to trade out each year the X5 nor the Explorer are for you.

I really think you nailed this vehicle to a tea having spent a week with an 2011 model in limited trim. The Sync System and soft touch controls did distract from the road. After the week, I didn't want to give it back however, so I wouild disagree with you final assessment. I would think the Pilot would be it's closest competititor and the front, mid and rear room are tops in this and found to be super quiet. I would take mine in Limited trim, but with a lesser package to keep it around $40k

HAVE SAME EXPLORER LESS AWD. ROAD NOISE IS VERY BAD! GET IT ON ANYTHING BUT GREAT PAVEMENT, AND YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE TALKING TO THE PERSON IN THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT.

Ford is crazy to think people will be spending $47,000. on this piece of junk. At that price you're much closer to buying a BMW X5. At least with a BMW, you know you are buying proven European performance. Here's the other problem. Your Ford explorer will devalue substantially. American vehicles devalue more rapidly than any other. This video was a big laugh. Limited edition Ford Explorer ~ with no sunroof? Give me a break.LOL.
