Driving Test Minor - Appropriate Speed.

62 is perfectly safe and acceptable on this road. Van, lorries, buses, cars with trailers have speed limit of 60. So shhouldnt have gotten a minor at all.

He's not driving a van, lorry, or bus and neither is he towing a trailer so what exactly is your point? He will get a minor on his test for not using as much of the speed limit as the conditions allow. Remember an instructor is there to help you pass the test, if you want to go 60 in a 70 then do so after you've passed.

@@Patrick-md3le the point is, there are even slower traffic than them and they dont need to drive at 70mph. I dont. I drive at 56mph in my car, saving fuel. There’s nothing wrong with it givenn that 56mph isnt the slowest vehicle on dual carriageways anyways. 30mph tractors use them.

What’s wrong with doing 60 mph in a speed limit of 70mph? Speed limits aren’t target but max allowed. In many cases lower speeds are way safer and more efficient. Sorry to all speeders

Apart from being frustrating for both new drivers and other drivers it also means the new drivers aren't getting used to using speed appropriately, especially on faster roads. Such a policy seems foolish and counterproductive. Always happy to be proven wrong though.

Nonsense. If you don't hold anybody up and dont pose a hazard, why using fuel to get to 70 when you turn off at next junction. Every move has ro be seen in relation to others, mobile and stationary hazards . Speed and potholes also damage grand mas spine/ lumbar discs. And we have a third world road and health maintenance here in UK 😅..

Everyone out here talking like the guy decided this himself, the job of a driving instructor is to help you pass the test and that's what he's doing. You WILL get a minor for not getting full use out of the allowed speed limit. If it's a 40 and you're going 30? Minor. Yes, it's silly but it is what it is.
