RTFM (just kidding) :). There is a 4 wheel drive mode that loosens up the traction control and makes it more rear wheel biased (MDM). It is in the settings you were messing with.

It can, the downsides are a stiff ride and 12 miles to the gallon

thought about upgrading my x3 to an x5, but the extra size and weight is an issue for me. Also the price new is still like yeah I would buy used or lease it.

I think it comes down to if you want an 8 cylinder or 6 cylinder engine
