Driving the Chisos Basin Road with a Truck Camper (Big Bend National Park)

In this episode, I take you along for the ride--my first mountain trip with my truck camper. As my first camping trip, I decided to visit Big Bend National Park and stay at the Chisos Basin campground. Only catch? Based on what I read, the drive would entail sharp curves, steep grades and wasn't recommended for trailers longer than 20 ft or RVs longer than 24 ft. Coming in right at 24ft, I decided to check it out. And... it wasn't that hard--especially after thousands of miles of travel through mountains. Make sure to stay for the end when I take you back out of the park for almost the entire 6-mile drive.

Yay your back! If ya don’t have a sway bar in the rear , get one! Not overly expensive and stops that gut devil when things get dicey.

Did she say that on the video about? I don't know if she was gone or not done. I'll tell you the host. Yukon is a massive truck camper. I'm using my wife's account here on KZbin, but I have owned three Arctic foxes, one adventurer and we're now in Portland area buying a northern light 10-2 which is about 1,400 lb lighter than the Arctic fox. So we'll see what happens with it.
