I drive a Police Interceptor Explorer. I was pulling out and had a tight window to get into the lanes. A Hellcat was barreling down the road, but I called it and first feathered then floored that pedal and I was in there in the blink of an eye pulling away from him with extreme prejudice. The guy in the Hellcat pulls up to me and I was ready to go at it with him and he just said... "That was awesome! Perfect execution! You have fun in that thing?" I told him, "Let's just say that it's turned my 150 mile a day commute into a video game." and he started laughing.

There is no Bluetooth connection, no digital touch screens, no traction or stability control computers, no DCT controlled by "paddle shift" or any other electronic frills onboard, just a raw 12-cylinder engine orchestrating a symphony while you shifting gears and enjoy feeling the car in your hand. the true spirit of a pure sports car.

I once had the job to drive a brand new Testarossa about 500km from Frankfurt to Rotterdam, where the car was shipped to Saudi Arabia. I was 20, so it was a wet dream come true. I drove carefully because it was a good job that I did more often, and I've never wrecked a car. At first, I was amazed at how cheap the material felt and looked inside. The first few kilometres were great because the engine sounded good and had enormous power for a car at that time. But after 100 kilometers on the German autobahn, the car got on my nerves. Noisy, something rattled and not very comfortable for the track. I was glad that I was rid of the car after the 500km. I liked the AMG vehicles or the BMW 7 Series Alpina, which were transferred more often, better. But of course, that's also a matter of taste.

As much as I enjoy your commentary, it’s a phucking Ferrari, just listening to the engine is more than enough. As Jimi Hendrix used to say: “I prefer to let the music do the talking”. One of the things that struck me the first time I saw a Testarossa was how large it was, and how roomy it was inside. When you see pictures of the Countach it looks like a monster, then when see one in the flesh it’s tiny. I never thought the Testarossa was good looking, but it was a design that was always going to be polarizing. The Daytona, the Dino, the 275gtb are what I would consider some of the most gorgeous objects ever created. But to run a Testarossa flat out on the German autobahn? Hand me the keys!

Lol...that's funny. I'm listening to the engine and it reminds me of my teenage years in the 90s and a certain song by Sir Mixx A-lot. No way I'd listen to rap/hip-hop cr@p now, but as a 17 year old we all did it. Then switch over to Pearl Jam or Soundgarden, etc. Good childhood

that magical "CLACK" sound that the gear lever makes when it hits the "H" plate of the gear clutch. These manual Ferrari H gearboxes were pure sex

My only experience driving a Testarossa was in the video game Test Drive. I had the Amiga version and all the upgraded sceneries and cars including the Testarossa. The sound was just like your video. But I recall preferring how the Lotus Espirit seemed to drive.

The Lotus was my favorite too. It didn't have the highest top speed, but it was fast off the line and rev happy. I love the Lotus today because of that game.
