*They are the perfect car for doing interstate trips in comfort. Big, roomy, comfortable seats, plenty of power for overtaking trucks etc. I had one as a daily about 13 years ago and did the Melbourne to Gold Coast trip many times and it never missed a beat or ever left me stranded or broken down in anyway. Great cars that just eat up the road. Sitting at 1OOkmh with Cruise control on I got her down to 8.8 litres per 1OOKM, so for such a big heavy car, that was great fuel economy. Mine was stock as a rock as well and obviously a lot newer. Mine only had 7O,OOOkm on the Odometer when I got her. I guess as the engine gets more kms it would start to use a little more fuel like all engines do. But yeah the best way to describe driving long distances in comfort like sitting in a leather recliner with great support for your back and legs too. If I could find another one in good condition I would buy another one for a daily driver 💯%*

Like you, I'm a Holden nut, but being born in 1968, i prefer the older stuff. Owned an HG Kingswood, LH Torana, VB Commodore and VK Commodore wagon for about 3 or 4 years each. Torana was the best car in terms of styling, size, power to weight and ease of ownership. If ever you come into some wealth, examine some earlier stuff if you can. Easier to work on, and they turn more head's.

My grandpa has a Vy Calais that he brought basically brand new, the interior is mint but the body needs a paint job all Original with 140,000km
