Driving This 1978 F100 On Dry Rotted Tires

I tried to take the 1978 F100 to my local Cars and Coffee, but this dry-rotted old tire had plans of it’s own..

If you still have the fan shroud piece that broke off you can get a cheap plastic welder from harbor freight or somewhere else and melt wire mesh into the crack on both sides. Also if the tires have cracks between the tread it’s 100% gonna blow out, you usually can get away with a bit of cracking on the sidewall if there’s none in between the tread. You’ll find when they blow out it’s always in between the tread.

check your motor mounts you might have a weak one that could be why the fan shroud broke under hard throttle motor tilted and fan hit shroud or a bad clutch fan or loose pulley or loose bolts on fan or pulley

If you check out my previous video, I had to jack up the engine to do an oil pan gasket and didn’t remove the shroud which resulted in it cracking.

any time you get old car or truck with old tires yes the tread may look good but they dry rot please baby that old girl it is hard to find parts for them same with old chevy trucks or dodges i like them all
